Smuggle Attempt Over U.S. Border by Maddie Ibarra

Last week, Smugglers from Mexico attempted to cross the border between the U.S.A. and Mexico in a jeep. The spokesman for the US Border Patrol, Spencer Tippets, says" agents spotted the SUV perched atop the fence early Tuesday near the border between Arizona and California." The two people from the Mexican side were trying to get the jeep free from the top of the fence when the border control agents spotted them. Once the agents tried to catch them, they fled into Mexico. When border control and officials approached the Jeep, it was empty. It is suspected that it was filled with illegal drugs before it got stuck on the fence. For it to be even possible to get a full sized Jeep stuck on a fence, the smugglers had build a ramp made of long ladders to drive up and over the fence.

This attempt to smuggle drugs into the USA was a good idea, but not very well thought out. It shows how desperate some people are to make illegal sales. Even though if was a failed try to make it into the USA, it gives people an image on how some Mexican people try to hide or blend into the American image so that they can go about selling the illegal drugs. I am honestly a bit scared because I have always thought that smugglers came into the country on foot. Now that I know that they can also come in any kind of vehicle, I can be more aware to what is happening between our countries.
