In an article written by Brooke T. explains how Tim Burton's newly released 'Frankenweenie' is based on Dia de los Muertos, the day of the dead. Burton is known for his dark themed movies, captures what Dia de los Muertos is all about; celebrating the dead. The movie is about a young boy whose dog dies and he brings him back to life using lightining. Burton says that of all the cultures he has visited, the Mexican way of dealing with death is the most positive. Every year on Nov. 1-2 people of Mexico celebrate their past relatives by decorating their homes and leaving offerings. The author put Tim Burton, his movie, and the Mexican culture all in a positive light. This article is for people who are interested in Tim Burton movies and people who celebrate Dia de los Muertos. I have enjoyed learning about this holiday and about a new film.

ReplyDeleteTim Burton has always been on of my favorite movie directors. I think it's so cool that Day of the Dead was his inspiration for Frankenweenie.
