TRAGEDY STRIKES. By Daizha Lankford

On November 8th, 2012 an article posted by Marta Sandoval and Gerson Ortiz was a very tragic and sad thing to read. A little boy only 6 years old went to his first day of work and not only was it his first, it was his last. An ordinary day it seemed like to the workers who load and unload sand, until a 7.3 magnitude earthquake hit. It killed over 100 people and damaged over 2,200 homes. This article shows you that you can be gone at any moment. Mother nature does not have schedule it just strikes when it does. The boys family is devastated and shows how much worse things are over in Guatemala. A six year old in the United States worries about crayons and Kindergarten. A 6 year old in Guatemala worries about helping provide for his family. If you do not know about all of the struggles and heartache going on in Guatemala, please read this article.

  2. That's so sad that a 6 year old would have to worry about providing for his family. He's to young to be worried about those things.

  3. Even though this is tragic, its hard to accept that we can do nothing about nature. As much as it would hurt to loose a loved one like this, we also couldn't blame anyone for this accident.
