So, almost the whole world knows about the government's latest break down. Alot of America knows about the affects and many are feeling the affects, but are we REALLY feeling the effects? Not compared to people living in homes situated on federal land, in National Parks, or in Recreational Areas. According to people like Joyce Spencer and Bob Hitchcock, they are treated like guests in their own home on their property, and that 'anybody who happens to own a home within its boundaries is technically a “visitor” subject to the same lockout that applies to tourists, hikers, campers or sportsmen seeking access to federal land." To make matters worse, anyone who doesn't abide by the government's order can be punished with a citation or fine, and/or be placed in jail. Incovenient as it is for the Government to not be working properly, and for people not recieving their paychecks, forced closure on homes really tops the list.
Government Officials do have reasoning behind this decision, though. Due to the limited pay for necessary workers only, National Park Patrol has been reduced, and with the already high number of incidents in wildlife areas, the Government can't afford to have it increase. although, this makes sense, is it really necessary to cut back on our physical needs and wants just please the law--makers?
I believe this is an excellent idea, but that the Government should definitely help support the people being forced out of their house due to the inconvenience and suffering it causes them. It is definitely a risk- saving strategy due to the lack in workers and patrollers who are normally there for safety reasons. It's definitely a good idea, but may not have been executed as well as it should have been.

This is awful that people are losing their jobs and being taken out of their home because our government is messed up. I hope all these issues are resolved very soon.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Paige; I hope the government gets ahold of itself soon, or innocent people will keep suffering like this.
