Ever since the Boston bombing back on April 15th, people in Boston (and all over the 50 states) have been on edge, and some in tears. But the races must go on! Runner's in Chicago's Sunday Marathon, from 120 countries and 50 states, gathered to remember the lives of those lost and those injured in the last major Boston marathon, as well run a race. The security was majorly increased, and some of the runners said that it was quite difficult to even get to the start line, but all agree it is necessary to ward off any furthur attacks. Though many still have flashbacks to last year's horrors and attrocities, many spectators and runners say, "Life is too short and I can't live in constant fear."
I believe that boosting the security is a great way of keeping poeple safe, and that runners and spectators will go even if it is difficult to enter and go where they need to. But it could get scary and might make people a little nervous to be there around so much security. Either way, the races must go on, and it seems great to get the races started up again. :)

i agree that the increase in safety is good because this will hopefully make people feel safer.
