Oregon dad killed while walking cross america by Becca Hodge

Joe Bell planned to walk across America in his son's honor.His son, Jadin, committed suicide because of being bullied at school and on line for being gay. Bell's plan was to walk across the 48 states and spread the importance of ani-bulling.  His trip abruptly ended when he was his by a lorry right outside the town of Kit Carson, Colorado. It was stated by the police that the driver of the lorry was asleep at the wheel when he hit Bell.

There are so many parts to this story I need to address. The first one: The lorry crashing into the dad. Wow. The driver was asleep at the wheel, how does that even happen? I know I've fallen asleep plenty of times in strange places *cough* class *cough* but at the wheel of a car? When there is so much at stake at one time how could you fall asleep? It's just terrible. Number two: This Man, Jon Bell, felt so bad for his son that he WALKED across America. It you walked 50 miles a day, it would take you 60 days or 2 months just to get from California to New York. That is pretty amazing. And to think he made it to Colorado already, just wow. Number 3: His son committing suicide. This is a tough issue. I know we've all had those anti-bulling assemblies and you are bored with hearing about it because it will never happen at our school because its perfect, but it still does all over the word. And to get bullied so bad that you had to end your life because of it, it must have been horrible. Bulling is a problem that needs to be stopped. Someone always gets hurt, and its not always the one getting picked on.
