Racial profiling in New York by: Meggie Hunt

Several citizens of New York have reported racial profiling in many stores and it wasn't until the week that authorities. The situation has even become serious enough that even celebrities have had experiences with the racial prejudice as well as several college students. The two leading stores where the complaints have been reported (Macy's and Barneys) are claiming to be working to right the wrong done to their costumers.
what with the new voting restrictions which basically target the same demographic as the ones being discriminated against in this article, it provides little surprise that this would also be an issue, and yet the fact that this was to be expected is almost more sobering than the issue itself. Racial discrimination is not over, and probably wont be for a long time, but its still disgusting to hear about these kind of stories. The example in this article is not unlike that of the discrimination of practicing Islam's in airports. And as for Barneys' "zero tolerance" of this kind of behavior is probably the same kind of empty promise which many public school systems maintain.

  1. I think that it is wrong to judge someone on their race, they may actually be a really good person.
