Marathoner didn't breath for a month by Angelica Fischer

Victor Carlos got the flu, then an acute bacterial infection, then an illness that attacked his lungs. When Victor checked into the hospital, his blood oxygen level was at 57%. The blood oxygen level should be at 95% or higher so Victor was in a dangerous stage. The doctors started a procedure known as extracorporal membrane oxygenation, or ECMO that gave Victor's lungs time to heal. This machine put oxygenated blood in his heart and the heart pumped it into his body and his lungs didn't have to do anything. Victor Carlos took his first breath by himself four weeks later and is now training for a marathon this month.

I am so glad that Victor Carlos is back on his feet doing the things he loves to do. I think that Victor should have went to the doctor when he first got the flu. Then if he did that he wouldn't have gotten as sick. This story tells people today that when you feel sick or start feeling more sick than just a regular cold, you should go see a doctor.
