William Swenson, a former U.S. military Army captain was recently awarded the medal of honor, the highest possible military award. He was given this medal for a his acts of heroism in a particular battle against the Taliban in 2009. He risked life and limb to help recover bodies and save troops from this dangerous situation and was able to save many lives. Swenson after having an amazing career and aiding so many people through out his active duty was awarded the most coveted award that any military veteran could receive; however the unusual thing was that Swenson, after accomplishing all that he has, asked to return to active duty in the military and continue his career.
I am amazed with the bravery and love this man has displayed. I couldn't imagine the dangerous situations and even tragedy he has seen and survived. After helping so many people in his career, I am in awe that he is passionate enough about what he does to return to active duty despite the dangers. I think regardless on your opinions about the military, this guy really is a hero.
