On April 3, 2017 11 people were killed in an explosion that was in a metro near St. Petersburg. The explosion caused quite a bit of damage since it was passing by other cities, causing 51 people to be wounded or in critical condition. Russian Prime-Minister Dmitry Medvedev claims it was a terrorist attack after finding a second bomb but then deactivating it before it caused any more damage. Many witnesses recall being surrounded by smoke after the attack, clueless as to what was happening while horrified civilians inside the train were "expecting death" and even worse, some were covered in the blood of those nearest to the bomb.
I will never be able to comprehend how horrible, terrifying and gruesome this must've been to those in and out of the train carts, my heart goes out to their families.

I wish there were more ways to prevent these attacks. All we can do is work together to pick up the damage and help eachother recover.
ReplyDeleteThis is awful. I feel that we need to develop stronger security measures to prevent these attacks from happening in the future.
