In Las Vegas, city council members are debating whether or not to pass a bill that would cause property owners to pay a $1,000 fine if their land has a bad odor. Officials would be sent to a property and use a device called a Nasal Ranger to measure the smell in a place. If the odor measures to a certain level than the land owner would either pay a fine or get rid of the scent. This all started because of a woman who owned a very large amount of cats and the smell seeped into the walls of her house. The house had to be torn down due to the awful odor that could be smelled from residence across the street.
Wow this made me laugh! At first I thought that this was just a bill being passed by some very up tight people. As I read on I totally got the why this actually might be a concern. I think that it's neighbor courtesy to try and keep your house to a smell that won't disturb the people on your block. This bill cracks me up but if it's really needed than go for it.

Wow getting fined for bad smells people should just get up and fix the bad smell instead of letting it set there
ReplyDeleteI agree it isn't pleasant to smell bad odor, let alone from a home full of cats. It sounds a bit ridiculous to charge so much and to pass a bill based on the smell of a property. However, it can bother neighbors and cause a problem. On the other hand, you could just tell that person they need to do something about the smell before matters get worse. So I guess i agree to pass this bill even if it seems odd at first
