U.S. Ambassador Killed in Libya-Maddie Ash

"When he went to Libya, he had no illusions about where he was going," said the ambassador's longtime friend, Daniel Seidemann. "He has probably done more than anybody on the planet to help the Libyan people, and he know going in that this was not going to protect him."
An assault on the American Consulate in Benghazi on
Tuesday resulted in the death of U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and others. Last spring, Ambassador Stevens was in that very city to help build ties between the upstart rebellion and the rebels. "He risked his life to stop a tyrant, then gave his life trying to help build a better Libya," U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Wednesday.

This article was written by Lisa Sylvester of CNN to let people know that the ambassador was a brave person. The attack on the consulate shows how hated Americans can be in that part of the world. This tragedy will be remembered for years to come.

  1. This is a very sad time when people who try and help get murdered by the people they are helping.
