Fisherman says Shark Saved his Life- Iris Hughey

A man who survived an unplanned 106 days at sea credits his survival to a passing shark. Toakai Teitoi of 41 years, a policeman from Central Pacific Island had been traveling with his brother-in-law on what was supposed to be a short voyage, beginning May 27, when they decided to fish along the way, and fell asleep. They woke up to find they were stranded, and were short on water. Sadly, Falaile, the 52-year-old brother-in-law died due to dehydration on July 4. Weeks passed, and on the afternoon of September 11, Teitoi awoke to the sound of a shark bumping against the boat’s hull. It was a six-foot shark and was said to be guiding Tetoi to a fishing boat. Tetoi looked up and saw his saviors (besides the shark) looking at him through binoculars and was later returned home safely, adding that he would “never go by boat again.”.

Sharks aren't as scary after all.

  2. I've never heard of a shark helping someone before, or even being depicted as a good creature! Usually you hear about shark attacks instead...

  3. That's really cool that a shark saved someone. They rreally aren't that bad, they just mistake people for seals usually.

  4. I really liked this post. I know most people tend to think of sharks as a dangerous and harmful animal, this just goes to show us we can sometimes be wrong.
