In America, not all students are in the classroom learning and interacting. Some of them are skipping school by "hanging out with friends" or "sleeping." Most of the students don't believe that skipping will impact their future in a negative way. If a student misses 10 days out of the school year, they more likely to not get a high school diploma. It is not always the students fault, it could be the parents fault for not checking in with their child and contacting the school to see what is going on. You can see through the students progress repot and report card if they have been doing all of the thing they are supposed to. If you see a student or someone you know skipping, you can also take effect because the students might need words of encouragement once in a while. Sometimes they do it because they don't know any better or just don't care about education.

I think this article is interesting because not many people ever look to the parents when their child is misbehaving and sometimes the parents do play a part in that.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you and think this is very interesting. I agree that sometimes the parents do need to step in on a problem like this. In some case, a child will misbehave and skip school because of a negative living environment at home.
ReplyDeleteA lot people need to learn to take school more seriously! What you do on a day-to-day basis may not affect your future, but the habits you make will!
ReplyDeleteGood job pointing out that it's also the parents fault!! A lot of people look straight to the kid if they're trouble but most times it starts at home!
ReplyDeleteI agree everyone should know that it is not just us. We are under a lot of stress and sometimes parents do not see that. If the parents do not even care enough to check in on us every once and a while, then no wonder students skip. I think as peers we should definitely encourage every student to attend and stay in school for the better.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you when you said that it isn't entirely the kid's fault. The parents should be doing a better job of handling their child's education! Kids need to take school more seriously because their future could be greatly impacted by the habits they made during adolescence.
