17 Killed in Helicopter Crash in Turkey by: Addison Norman

17 Killed in Helicopter Crash in Turkey
by: Addison Norman

Saturday November 10, in Turkey 17 military workers died in a helicopter crash.  The helicopter was bringing 13 soldiers along with 4 crew members to a military operation in southeastern Turkey. The main cause of the crash is still being determined; many believe the helicopter crashed into a mountainside do to fog and poor weather conditions. Another thought that it was a terrorist attack. The Turkish military has been battling a rebellion with Kurdish radicals that have killed 30,000 people in the last 30 years.
This article reminds me how important it is to be aware of what is going on around the world. For example, if you want to travel to Turkey it would be beneficial to be aware of the multiple terrorist attacks that have occurred in the area. In class we just learned about push and pull factors, and terrorism is an example of a push factor.

  1. I can't believe that 17 people have died and that it might have been due to weather conditions or terrorist attacks. If it was due to weather conditions, then whoever was flying the helicopter should have been more aware of what was happening in the air and they should have landed the helicopter to be safe. If it was due to terrorist attacks, then I don't understand why there always has to be arguments in the world. Arguments shouldn't come to a point where people are killed and have to suffer because of stupid decisions. These people will always be remembered.
