Argentina Drops Voting Age to 16 By: Taylor Marsh

On Wednesday Argentinian lawmakers dropped the voting age to 16. Some say that its just so President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner can get more votes, but others say that its so the youth can get more involved in politics. The youth are torn on whether this is good or bad. Personally I dont think that it is a very good idea. I think 16 is to young, I feel that they dont fully understand or care about politics yet.

  1. I agree, I think that the age 16 is to immature to decide on who to vote for.

  3. At first, I thought that it was a good idea to drop the voting age because it would give young people who actually like politics a chance to be involved with politics. Now I don't think that it is because most 16 year olds could care less about politics. They could probably make the wrong decision, but they wouldn't even care. Their vote would mean a lot in politics, considering how many more people are allowed to vote now, and if 16 year olds are just going to vote randomly then there is no point in allowing them to vote.
