Colombia Halloween Bombing by Milan Hamilton

On the night of Halloween, in Bogota, Colombia, a suitcase bomb exploded near a town square, killing 2 suspect bombers and injuring 37 people, 7 of which were hospitalized. The suspect bombers were carrying a suitcase on a couple of blocks from the central square of Pradera on a bicycle. More than 5,000 children had gathered at the town square. Regional police chief, Col. Nelson Ramirez speculated that the bomb was intended to hit Pradera's police station. The police station is a block away from where the bomb hit. Pradera is in an area of a strong FARC influence, where security forces are often attacked.

This is important because we need to watch out for crime in the world. Things like this could happen in the U.S. and we need to be aware of that. Knowing this, we could also do something to help areas like these where crimes like these often happen.

  1. I hate hearing stories like these. I don't understand why people feel the need to harm people. It gets nothing done, you kill innocent people, and in the end you will receive a serious punishment. I mean if there is a major conflict between people they should just talk about it, not try to kill people, thinking that it will make them feel better. I hope that these people get better soon, and I hope that the security everywhere will learn from this attack and enforce security more.

  2. HOW CAN YOU TRY TO BOMB ANYTHING WITH CHILDREN AROUND!? I understand some people have a hate towards government or powers, but I have not heard of anyone who has been so evil as to do this action with a large population of children. The fact that this bombing was planned the night of halloween and in the center of tons of kids sickens me. I hope that the people injured and dead will be able to forgive their actions.
