The bombing in Colombia-Faith Barnes

In Bogota, Colombia a suitcase bomb explored which killed two men and injured thirty-seven people. In the town square kids were celebrating Halloween when it explored. The two men who were killed, had been members of the drug-trafficking band allied with rebels from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia , or FARC. The men carried the bombs in a suitcase while riding a bike two blocks away from the town square. There had been more than five thousand children in that town when the bomb went off, all of a sudden. Seven of the thirty-seven that were injured had to go to the hospital, which included a nine and eleven year old boys. Fourteen children were injured that day. The town is called Pradera which has sixty thousand people, which is located in an area of FARC influences, where security forces often attack. I think that they are so lucky to have had only only thirty-seven people injured in this bombing although it is very sad to hear about the FARC influences.

  1. This is just crazy. What we need to do is make peace with Latin America, and that's the end of the story!

  2. This is so sad, I wish there was something we could do to help the families that lost someone.

  3. Wow! I don't understand why someone would go as far as bombing kids. I'm glad no children died and I hope the ones in the hospital were'nt injured severely.

  4. Yes, I agree. The government sometimes goes too far when it comes to dealing with an enemy such as when the U.S. dropped atomic bombs on Japan during World War II.
