Pausing and Resuming the Government, By: Jon Cope
Summary:
After a few days of a government shut-down, just about over 800,000 people have been temporarily jobless from the Pentagon. A unanimous vote has been conducted that once the government resumes, all employes will be paid again. Right before the shutdown a law was signed by the president that many people would still be getting paid (troops in Afghanistan...). If this government shut-down continues any longer, many more people will be temporarily job-less or even fired.
Analysis:
I don't like this government shut down. First of all, I believe that the democrats should have agreed to either temporarily stop Obama Care, or change / limit the budgets towards it. I then believe that during government shut-downs, and even after them, many government buildings should be closed every other day. These would lower the government budgets; therefor, no need for a government shut-down.
