Yellowstone's Supervolcano By: Zaria Chambers

BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yellowstone’s super volcano may erupt later in the future.  Although the volcano is dormant right now scientist are trying to figure out exactly when it’s going to erupt. This super volcano that lies under Yellow Stone National Park is responsible for the fourth-largest eruption that occurred about 2 million years ago.  The most recent eruption happened about 640,000 years ago.  Scientist are predicting that the next time this super volcano erupts that it is capable of covering half of the United States in three feet of ash.

The article was created by Charles Q. Choi. This article was produced Friday, September 14, 2012. I already knew that the article was going to be about a dormant volcano that is subject to erupt in the future. This article was written for all ages. It was written to inform the world that this super volcano may erupt in the future.  This article is important because it informs the reader on what is predicted to happen in the future.

  1. This is interesting. We were learning about this in class :D I'm ready for that Volcano! BRING IT ON. jk. Well. I don't think it affects our side on Texas. I hope a long time passes before it erupts. After watching the movie 2012, I'm a little unnerved on this whole global warming, volcano, extreme weather things.
