"Dr Craig Venter, who helped map the human genome, created the world’s first synthetic lifeform, using chemicals and inserting DNA into the cell of a bacteria." Dr. Center believes that scientists will be able to do the same while designing basic organisms. This will be helpful for farming or medicine.
I, personally, am I kind of worried about this invention... Humans could take advantage of this, and use it very poorly.

Wow, I think that's really cool how we have progressed far enough that we are capable of making synthetic life; however, I can see a scientific advance like this having some pretty severe unintended consequences.
