Like me you are probably curious what this government shutdown is. So here are some basic questions I have found answers for what the shut down is.

WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU MEAN BY THE GOVERNMENT IS SHUT DOWN?

When the government shuts down certain sectors of the government such as, NASA, the Statue of Liberty, the DPS (which sucks because I cant apply for my drivers license) and many other things.

OKAY BUT WHY?

Well congress couldn't agree on a new budget.

DO THEY EVER?

Yes, they usually pass a new bill which extends the status quo or change the bill slightly.

BUT WHAT IS DIFFERENCE THIS TIME?

Well the affordable health care act is going into effect and the republicans in the House of Representatives didn't want to fund it so they got rid of it from the budget plan. They sent it to the Democrat controlled Senate and they did not want the affordable healthcare act to be not funded so they sent the budget proposal back to the House of Representative and this dance repeated over and over again until the government had to shutdown.

SO IT IS OBAMA'S FAULT?

No, despite the affordable health care acts nickname Obamacare it is actually a conservative idea from the heritage foundation.

HEY I HEARD OBAMACARE IS SOCIALIZED MEDICINE IS THAT TRUE?

No, it is actually a system in which you still have to buy health insurance and it makes it easier to obtain  such as guaranteeing your not denied coverage because you are sick or have a pre-exsisting condition. Also the only reason you are taxed because you don't have health insurance in-order to insure insurance prices don't rise.

GETING BACK ON TOPIC, WHOSE FAULT IS IT FOR CAUSING THE SHUTDOWN?

To me it is really everyones fault because we voted for a Senate whose the opposite alignment of the House of Representatives.

BUT THAT IS AN OPINION NOT A FACT.

It is an opinion but you asked me the question so you see as some sort of authority. I'm kidding of course. The problem really is that this is a complex issue that by blaming anyone we are admitting an opinion.

SO WHAT IS WITH THIS IMPENDING DOOM IM HEARING ABOUT?

The problem is that by october 17th we have to raise the debt limit or else we can't pay our debts and this disturbs the entire world economy and no one wants a world wide recession.

BUT WHAT WILL WE DO?

There really is nothing we can do but there is hope the Republicans are giving up on getting rid of the affordable health care act but the Republicans still want to get something out of this so they don't look like idiots.

SO REALLY THE TRUTH IS SO COMPLEX THAT REALLY THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE THIS PROBLEM BETTER IT TO HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF IT?
