"Freedom Soda: New York's Ban On Big Sodas Hits Us Where We're Human" By Sydney Magnall

Did you ever think that big sodas would be ban? Well, "today, a panel in New York City is expected to approve the ban of soda and other sugar-sweetened beverages in containers larger than 16 ounces in restaurants, street carts and stadiums."
The mayor of New York has been known for being healthy so he agrees with the ban of soda in large cups. What is the big deal about this? Well, many people don't like the idea of soda being ban in large cups. They say it is taking one step to far. They think they should be able to decide what they drink. One man says he thinks, "it is a choice that is being taken away."
Some studies show that people are emotionally attached to soda, so it is harder for them to give it up then for others. This is another reason why it is a big deal to ban soda. Over half of the people opposed the idea.
Through all of this controversy some people just think it will take time to get used to and it won't be such a big deal then. They will found out in March 2013, when the ban is going to be put in effect, what it will be like.

  3. The ban seems silly, but this is very good for the health of people in New York. No one needs all that extra sugar in their diet. My family stopped drinking any type of soda a couple years ago and we don't miss them at all. There are so many other healthier choices. I don't think it will be a big deal once they make the change.
