For years, the family of Randy Scott had thought that he had died instantly on impact from the second plane hit the South tower. Now, U.S. historians, medical examiners, and scientists have discovered that a note saying
"84th floor ... West Office ...12 people trapped." belonged to Denise's husband, Randy, and would tell her and her three daughters that their father's dead was not as they had assumed it was. Assumption tells us that Randy apparently did not die on impact, but he lived on trying to help others who were trapped on the 84th floor with him. A blood stain on the left side of the note made investigators think that he had broken a window to get his note to fly down to the ground where soon after it had landed, fire men had discovered it and taken it to The Federal Reserve Bank where it was kept until now. After blood tests on the note and identification of handwriting, Randy's family was told about his heroic attempt to save himself and 12 people. "Ernst said he believes the physical characteristics of the writing tells Randy Scott's story in those final moments."He wasn't trembling. He wasn't nervous. It just looked like, 'This is what I gotta do. I gotta get some help to these 12 people.'" The note is now displayed at the National 9/11 Memorial Museum.
If I had lost a loved on that sad day, I know that my life would be forever changed. For this family though, they had a bit of light shine on the mystery of their fathers death. I hope that this note took away some of the pain and sadness that 9/11 brings to them. May they and everyone who suffered from that day live in peace.

I found this post very interesting! there was a lot of good information.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. That man was just one of the many, many unrecognized heroes that died on 9/11. I hope his family is comforted by his bravery, and by the fact that he tried to help save the people around him.
ReplyDeleteWhat this man was very brave and sweet! I hope that if I was in a similar situation I would do the same.
