By: Sari Zeidler
Summery and analysis by: Addie Norman

Chicago Public School teachers have been on strike from school, leaving 350,000 students home from school. The school system has been shut down temporarily because teachers refuse to work, and many are protesting in the city. Teachers held signs that say “Chicago Public Schools on strike for better schools.” Many wonder what change are they looking for other than “better schools.” Some believe that the teachers are “…just striking because they want to strike.” Students and parents are beginning to worry that the strike is going to begin to effect education, especially for high school students. There are many people who support the teachers too. Students have said that at their school that the air conditioners don’t work and the students have to share textbooks saying that the schools are no longer sufficient learning environments.
