Dublane shares pain of Connecticut school shooting- Rian Pettit

Small Scottish town by the name of Dublane, shares the pain that was caused by the recent school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut that left 28 dead: 20 students, 6 faculty members, the shooter and his mother. This is particularly scarring for the town of Dublane, because it rings back horrible memories of Britain's worst school massacre in 1996, when a gunman came and shot 16 children, the teacher, and then himself.
"The memories are flooding back. It must be hell for the parents. We said prayers for them in my church," said Harry McEwan, 71, who has lived in the town for 30 years. "Dunblane has so much in common with what has happened in Newtown."
The massacre in Dublane has led to Britain adopting some of the strictest gun controls in the world.

This story is touching, because it shows not only was Newtown affected, but it affected everyone around the world. This is a true tragedy that all these innocent, defenseless people were lost and it is nice to see everyone pulling together to offer their support to help all the families and citizens of Newtown, Connecticut.

  1. Something's got to be done about the gun violence, too many people are already lost each day, we don't need to add to those numbers.
