Analysis : My opinion on this photo is that it was meant to be a positive message, considering it was the end of WWII. Although, when you read the head line you realize its not so positive at all. It is good to know that the author of this article, CBS Interactive Incorporative, was sincere enough to remember and think about this women.
Summary: It was said that the lady in this photo, Greta Friedman died at the age 92. She is also known as the nurse in the iconic picture VJ Day photo at the end of WWII. It was confirmed that the sailor in the picture showed up to the funeral in memory of the photo. Even though, she was put to rest by her late husband.
It was so sweet of him to go in honor of this picture! May she rest in peace.

ReplyDeleteI think that that is so sweet and touching that he went to her funeral. Especially when both were already part of such an iconic photograph.
