Winning by Swimming by Hannah Kerman
The author of this article was William M. Welch who is a writer for USA Today. From what I can tell, the author does not have a side in the article, but he does have very good things to say about Diana Nyad, who was the swimmer. Before I read the article, I had never heard of anyone swimming across the ocean from Cuba to Florida. I did know before that from Cuba to the coast of Florida, it is approximately one hundred to one hundred fifty miles. Because I did not know very much about someone attempting to swim from Cuba to Florida, I knew that if someone did, it would be a very long swim and a very big accomplishment. I believe that the author has very positive things to say about Diana Nyad, he seems to agree with me that swimming from Cuba to Florida is a very big accomplishment especially being an older swimmer. This article was written so that people could learn more about Diana Nyad's swim and how hard and dangerous it is. The author shows that the accomplishment was big by explaining that she swam without a shark cage and that she would not give up even if she had to try four times! This article shows that if you really believe in your dreams, you can accomplish anything no matter what. It also explains that you can try and fail, but if you keep trying, one day you will achieve your goal. In conclusion, this article is very positive towards Diana Nyad and this article is relevant to our lives because she is an inspiration for future generations!http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/09/02/nyad-cuba-to-florida-swim/2755875/
64 year old woman swims from Cuba to US by Becca Hodge
Diana Nyad, a 64 year old woman, became the first person to swim from Cuba to US with out a shark cage. She swam for 53 hours straights only to stop for food and water. She has attempted to do this four times before- once in 1978, two times in 2011 and once in 2012, each she has failed. Diana started her trek early on Saturday in Havana and arrived on the beach in Florida at around 14:00 on Monday. At the beach, Diana was greeted by hundreds of people there to support her. Ms. Nyad is a very inspirational person. She never stopped going after her goal. The fact that a 64 year old woman can cover 110 miles nonstop swimming is amazing. It really shows that you should never stop believing in yourself and to always go after your dreams.

PostSecret Murder? by Anna Pickett
Recently, a confession was posted on a blog called PostSecret. The confession stated, "I said she dumped me, but really, I dumped her (body)." PostSecret is a blog where people can anonymously send in a postcard to Thomas Warren, the founder. He will then choose a select few to scan and post onto the blog. This confession was written on top of a map with an arrow pointing to a specific location. Reddit users found the exact location of this picture: Jackson Park in Chicago. Police have been searching the park for any signs of a homicide, but nothing has come up. Though the confession might have been fake, they will still continue to check for the possibility of a murder.
I think that Thomas Warren should not have posted this online. He could have simply sent the postcard to the police and let them find the location. I think that if too many people know about this possibility, it could cause some people to become paranoid. It could also encourage others to make up a story, in hope that the police will try to solve the crime. These fake cases might cause the police to become backtracked.

boy goes missing years ago but the efforts to find him don't stop by Polly Hynds-Riddle
on June 4th 2010 a 7 year old boy named Kyron Horman went missing. kyron was last seen by his step mother when she dropped him off at elementary school. Kyron's mother has not given up, she is still sending volunteers out to search for him. the search team includes 100 people and 10 search dog teams! the group has found new information that the hope will lead to them finding Kyron safe and sound.
i think that the child should still be searched for and if there are 100 volunteers the are willing to do it they can but i think it it bit much for something that happened years ago maybe the search pearly could be cut down to half and the part not working on finding Kyron could work on another volunteer job.

Diana Nyad completes historic Cuba-to-Florida swim : Allie Gonzales
http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/02/world/americas/diana-nyad-cuba-florida-swim/index.html?hpt=wo_t2
The 64 year old swimmer Diana Nyad finally accomplished her life long goal after an unbelievable swim from Cube to Florida. This was Diana's fifth try after during a remarkable 35 year period. She unfortunately didn't succeed after the first 4 times but after the 5th try, nothing was going to stop her. "One is we should never ever give up. Two is you never are too old to chase your dreams. Three is it looks like a solitary sport, but it's a team," Diana once said. Nyad faced many set back during her first four attempts from jellyfish stings, to her horrific asthma attacks and lightning storms, but this time she was not stopping.
Nyad finally reached Key West Beach just before 2 p.m Monday afternooon. It was an outraging & horrific swim but the amazing swimmer pushed through every step of the way. She taught me personally to never give up on your dream, and that in my opinion is outstanding.

Missing Boy in Oregon by Bette Rathjen
http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/01/us/oregon-missing-boy/index.html?hpt=hp_bn1
In 2010 Kyron Horman went missing in Oregon and he has still not been found. I believe that the article was written to inform the public that there is a missing child and if they know something about him they should inform the police/ search team. It also could have been written if they are close to finding the child, so if they find him, the public will know that the missing child had been found. This article is important because it makes us realize that the world is not as safe as it may seem and it informs us that they will not give up trying to find Kyron. This article is trying to get the attention of the public so they can know what is going on and they can help if possible.
How teens, parents struggle to share social media Kiyanna Elliott
http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/30/tech/social-media/social-media-teens-parents/index.html?hpt=te_r1
Today, teens are ruled by social media. They have grown up with posting and sharing information about their lives online, but don't share the concern with their parents about privacy and other worries. This doesn't mean teens are reckless with personal information. Facebook is popular with both teens and parents. Many teens use other social media like Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Vine and Pinterset and feel they have more freedom express themselves on these. If teens want more private ways to communicate, they use Kik, WhatsApp, and Snapchat. Although most teen hide social media from their parents, some say they have worked with their parents to share social media. They have set boundaries to help coexist with each other.
Social Media wasn't made just for teen. I feel parents an teens should be able to coexist with each other. Its a great tool and form of communication for the both. It shouldn't be restricted to just one or the other. I understand it can be embarrassing for us to have our parents on Facebook or Twitter, but that's why you talk to them to express what you think your boundaries are.
