Are Russian children happy in the U.S.? by Josie Blossfeld

Summary: Much debate has been circulating around whether or not Russian children can be happy in the United States. There have been many issues regarding the care for Russian foster children in America in the past that were never taken care of properly. Russian leaders argue that the agreements they come to with foreign countries regarding Russian foster kids are usually not productive, especially in these cases with the United States. Russian leaders now wish to control these matters in the U.S. through their government.

Analysis: If it's true that Russian immigrant foster children have not gotten proper care from their parents, Russian leaders should be allowed say in what happens to them in the future. Russia is a part of that child's culture even if they are in America, and to know one's own children are being done harm and not be able to do anything about it would be awful. Americans in charge of these foster children should cooperate to figure out what is best for the child.

Smoking is Dangerous, By: Jon Cope

Smoking is Dangerous, By Jon Cope

Summary:
Right near St. Christopher's Inn, on Borough High Street, Southwark, a stabbing has occurred. The Metropolitan Police believe that a 34-year-old man was killed and stabbed last night at around 23:45 GMT. He was supposedly smoking a cigarette in an alleyway with his friend when he was stabbed. This man has been identified after he was taken away to the Royal London Hospital, once he had passed. Apparently, there was also a group of men sighted running away.

Analysis:
I believe this is horrible! I feel really bad as this guy was probably just minding his own business and all of the sudden, a man comes up and stabs him. Also, I wouldn't smoke, it can cause lung cancer.

Helicopter crashes into Scotish pub by Sam Stromness

Last night a Helicopter Crashed into a pub in Scotland with about 130 people in the pub and 3 in the helicopter. So far 32 people have been hospitalized ,but none have died. There are still some people stuck beneath the recage and rescue efforts are being made to save them.

I think it's really sad that all these people were injured during the crash. Also, with people still stuck in the collapsed building, as sad as it is i would be suprised if everyone survived. The people in the hospital are said to be in serious condition and I hope they are alright.

White Noise - Max Gaddis

http://edition.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/crime/2013/11/28/erin-vercammen-tucson-held-captive.cnn.html

http://edition.cnn.com/2013/11/27/justice/tucson-arizona-captive-girls/index.html?hpt=us_c2

Three girls in Arizona were held captive by their own mother and stepfather in three separate bedrooms for months with only blaring music and once a day meals to accompany them. The parents had an elaborate system of audio monitors and alarm systems hooked up all over the house, they also controlled what music the girls listened to. They spied on them with the in-home security system, changing the music at random times to terrible, tasteless music, or, if they seemed to show an inclination to the music, they would change it to static or "white noise". The girls hadn't bathed or used a proper restroom in months. When police found them they were covered in grit, grime, and traces of feces, and urine. At least one of the girls had been sexually assaulted by her stepfather too. The 12 and 13 year old escaped one day and ran over to a neighbor's house, who then called the police. When police arrived, they found the 17 year old locked in her bedroom that had towels stuffed under the door so the parents didn't have to hear their own tasteless music while going about their business in the house. The girls had used their closets as bathrooms in order to relieve themselves because they weren't allowed out of the rooms. They were fed meals once a day. A reporter was told by the grandmother that the girls were exaggerating their story because the parents didn't like the girls to be out in the neighborhood and they were homeschooled anyways. The mother was charged with 3 counts of kidnapping, child abuse(physical) and child abuse(emotional), one for each of the girls, and the step-father for the same plus one count of sexual abuse with a person younger than 15. The police did not charge him with more because he already had enough crimes to go to jail and stay there for a good long time.

This is terrible. I am a musician and a girl and I think its terrible to go without shower or good music for more than one day. I wonder what happened to them when they were on their periods, how they brushed their teeth, how they entertained themselves, if they knew what they looked like, if they knew how many months they had been kept there, if they wondered when school started, if they thought about how halloween and thanksgiving and christmas would go, when they would ever be able to breathe fresh air, why their parent and step-parent were doing this to them. I would hate to be in a locked room, on my birthday/halloween/thanksgiving, on my period, not being able to take a shower, not being able to relieve myself, listening to tasteless music or static all day long.

Apple buys company by: Eleanor E-W

A company that makes sensors (and was involved in the making of Kinect) has been bought by apple. Kinect allows people to 'connect' to their Xbox using more than just remote control, but their whole body. Apple spent a lot of money and it, and many people are trying to figure out what it will use the company for.

I think this is interesting. I'm not much of a video game person--so I've never heard of Kinect, but the compnay sounds interesting. Sometimes I worry that use companies like Apple might be getting to much power and information.

is it TIME for a change? by Polly Hynds-Riddle

in spain in the 1940s in world war II the spanish were asked to join Germany but having just finished with a war within the country they were in ruins so they just changed their time to match up with that of germany.ever since people have been getting less sleep and working longer (statistically)

i think the should change it back because we have timezones to sort out time so it matches with the day but Spain is still deciding on whether or not to do so.

Norwegians Try to Reduce How Much Food They're Wasting - by Frances

A recent survey in Norway by the Østfold Research Food Waste Prevention showed that even though they had made improvements since 2010, Norwegians still waste around 255,000 tons of food each year, including the waste from stores, shops, farms, households and kitchens. The country's goal is to reduce this amount by 25% by 2015. More people are becoming aware of this issue, so that the supermarket chain Tesco has ended its "2 for 1" offers, and another chain, Rema, is considering doing the same thing, because they lead people to buy more than they can eat. Another supermarket, NorgesGruppen has started collecting food that is still edible but approaching their expiration dates, so consumers don't buy them.

Even though this is a serious issue, I like how the article was positive, and that its main idea was how people are trying to fix this waste problem instead of how bad the problem is, because it gives other countries dealing with the same thing some hope and some ideas to try. I know that the States has a huge problem of wasting food, and I think they need to start doing something more about it. Daily that are so many offers where you can buy larger quantities for a lower price, but you end up buying too much food, and then it goes off and you have to throw it away. Meanwhile, there are people starving in other parts of the world that could have been using that food if it hadn't been so mass-marketed. Also, whenever you go to restaurants, portion sizes are out of control, and even if you take the food to go, you may not want leftovers later. This country is infamous for the amount of waste it emits, but this article is relevant because it shows how another country countered this problem and was able to be successful.

DINOSAUR CAUGHT BY FISHERMAN ON MIAMI BEACH!!!!!!!?????? by Trevor Walker

Mark Quartiano has caught thousands of sharks, and hooked clients up with thousands more. In fact, the Florida captain is famously known as Mark the Shark.
But until Saturday, Mark the Shark had not encountered anything quite like the monstrous skate that he described as looking “like some kind of dinosaur.”
It was a rare catch for an angler, indeed. Quartiano said this shark relative’s scientific name is Dactylobatus clarkii, and a quick Internet search revealed very little information about the species. However, on Monday, George H. Burgess of the Florida Museum of Natural History identified the creature as a roughtail stingray with the scientific name, Dasyatis centroura.
It resides in deeper continental shelf waters of the U.S. East Coast from off the Carolinas south to Uruguay, and in the eastern Atlantic.
“Most anglers don’t bottom-fish in these deeper waters so they aren’t routinely seen by that user group, but commercial longline fishers and research biologists see the critter fairly commonly,” Burgess said. “Obviously large adults like this require heavy fishing gear and strong backs–they aren’t great fighters, but they weight a bunch and are prone to suck their body onto the bottom like a kiddie arrow tip. Once the suction is broken it’s basically a matter of hoisting up a big weight.”
Quartiano, who was fishing with a Japanese film crew, had dropped a whole bonito to the bottom off Miami Beach. Before long, line began to spin from his reel.
“I was fishing at about 500 feet and we were trying to catch a shark for their TV show,” the captain said. “I hooked that monster and it took about four hours to bring it up. At first I thought it was a large thresher shark, because that’s kind of the way they fight.”
One of the film crew had underwater gear and captured footage that will be released later this year or early next year, Quartiano said.
Quartiano’s crew winched the giant creature out of the water for “three or four minutes” for a photo opportunity, then set it free. Mark the Shark estimated its weight at 800 pounds.
“It was a big female and she swam away pretty quickly,” he said. “It was kind of cool to catch something new for a change. … When we first saw it we didn’t know what it was. It looked really odd … like some kind of dinosaur.” Dinosaur my hind foot, I say!!! That looks like a perfectly fine stingray that probably had too many cupcakes or something! Other than that it's completely fine, maybe a bit oversized, but this guy isn't a biology expert and can't say it's a dinosaur right after catching it!

Lets play "Knockout"… By: Bella Morris

The new game, a game so serious 4 people have already lost their lives. Young groups of kids have been strolling around Brooklyn, New York playing this deadly game. The game works by walking up to a random stranger and twisting their neck, this game was inspired by the video game "Grand Theft Auto", changing fantasy into real life situations. Many people have been avoiding these attacks by not going into alleys or walking next to large groups of young teens. This game will hopefully not begin to be a trending game to young teens.

In my opinion, this is one of the most horrific things i have ever heard of. I can't imagine losing a family or friend due to some troubled teens re in acting a video game. This needs to end right now, four people have already lost their lives to this cause. The video game should at least get banned because young teens are getting inspiration from the violence we see in the media on a daily basis. All we can hope is that those numbers don't increase and this game comes to an end.

One Dead In Greece Floods by Bob Cummins

On Friday, two hours of heavy rain came through a tour island near Rhodes, Greece and created flash floods.  There were roads damaged, power outages, and not to mention 140 calls to the fire department for help.  That day, there was a couple reported missing in a flooded area, and a0 40 year old woman found dead in a river bank.   The spokeswoman for the fire department stated, "parts of the island have been declared in a state of emergency."  On Saturday it was planned for a Super Puma helicopter and firefighters from Athens to report to Rhodes and help.

I'm glad that Greece is supporting and helping Rhodes at this time.  Hopefully they will also be supportive of the dead woman's family and find the missing couple, preferably alive.  It doesn't sound like much damage was done to the city itself.  This sounds like it won't be very hard to get things back to normal quickly.

Slavery in London by: Shadden Hashem

In London, three women were found in slavery for over 30 years. This has shocked people throughout the whole world. Although this is a serious matter, this type of slavery isn't uncommon in London.
I think it's awful that these women were in slavery for over 30 years and that this isn't uncommon in London.

Secret Millionaire by Zoey Crummey

Two years ago, 87 year old Kathleen Magowan passed away in Simsbury, Connecticut. Recently people have been realizing her surprising secret; she was rich. Her house was estimated around 6 million, with $6000 of jewelry, and some extremely valuable 1949's and 50's Quaker Oats that contained original war bonds. The most amazing thing is, after she died, she donated all of her money to charity. "She left nearly 480,000 to Simsbury public schools, $500,000 to the University of St. Joseph in West Hartford, more than $400,000 to the McLean nursing home where she died, and nearly $375,000 to her local parish..."

I think that this is truly an incredible story. This woman is obviously extremely kind and giving, not to mention down to earth. She didn't ever flaunt her money, in fact she was a very involved member of the community. She loved reading and discussing books with friends. "She lived her life fully and completely" This lady restores some hope for humanity because of her kindness and generosity. I hope that there are many more people like her out there in the world.

Black Kangaroo Spotting by Josie Blossfeld

Summary: A Black Kangaroo was spotted in Moscow, November 14th. A couple driving through southeastern Russia saw the kangaroo and fed it some banana. Residents of the Saratov region have spotted this stray Kangaroo at least twice this year in spring and summer. Speculation pertaining to where the Kangaroo could have come from has been spreading throughout the region.

Analysis: Wherever the Kangaroo came from, I'm glad the community's response has been kind so far. It seems like no one has tried to poach the animal. Hopefully it will be able to survive in Russia's cold climate.

Three Women Held Captive for 30 Years By: Hannah Kerman

Three women were held captive for more than 30 years in an ordinary house, on an ordinary street in London. One of the women is 30 now and has appeared to have been in captivity her entire life. The people in charge are just an ordinary couple at age 67. They are currently under arrest and the police say they've never seen a case last so long. The police were contacted about this in October when a woman called saying that she had been held captive for 30 years. Getting them out required being careful and some phone calls, but eventually they were coaxed out and into safety.

I think that this is awful because what kind of a sick person captures three ladies and has them held captive for 30 years? I can imagine how long each day must have been and for the one that spent her whole life there, she never had a choice and she probably never got a formal education! We should be grateful for our school and the fact that right now most of us will hopefully never have to live like that.

Nasty weather wallops much of U.S. just before Thanksgiving - Allie Gonzales

http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/25/us/weather-thanksgiving/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

Summary:
The nasty wintry weather that pounded the west coast this past weekend is now moving its way across the country threatening to ruin many travel plans just before Thanksgiving. The storm has already contributed to at least 10 traffic fatalities and nearly 400 flights have already been canceled in the Dallas-Fort Worth area -- not exactly a bastion for snowstorms. Sleet and freezing rain will keep blanketing parts of the Southern Plains and Southern Rockies on Monday. To add on after the storm deluges parts of the South with rain Monday evening, it'll start zeroing in on the Northeast according to the national weather service and that could spell more travel nightmares. It's not just the bad timing that has travelers riled up. In many of the places, this kind of weather isn't supposed to happen. An Arctic air mass will probably keep temperatures 15 to 20 degrees below normal along the East Coast through Thursday. But even if the system fails to deliver heavy snow, fierce winds could still hamper air travel, forecasters said. Four people have already died due to these horrible weather conditions and were due sadly to dangerous road conditions. Now for the big question, When is this horrible weather going to end? Most of the nastiness will end by Thanksgiving Day, though much of the Northeast will still get a layer of snow Thursday. Hopefully conditions get way better in enough time for people to travel and se their loved ones for the holidays.

Analysis:
This weather is horrible! Texans sure aren't used to this type of weather. I really hope that conditions on the road clear up. It would suck for people not be able to see their loved ones on this beautiful holiday.

Fashion of The Battle of Versailles! By:Madelyn Winkelman

This week in France, designers everywhere remembered the amazing fashion show that originally happened November 1973;which contained French and American designers alike. The event was thought up by Eleanor Lambert who wanted to raise money for the restoration for Versailles. It was such a hit that after a few years it became known as 'Grand Divertissement a' Versailles'. It has been said it had an amazing original cast, and that each designer presented 10 extravagant gowns complete with props, grand entrances, and a full orchestra. It depends on who you ask, but most people agree that "The Americans stole the show" and most think that because of these fashion shows American fashion is what it is today.

I thought this was pretty interesting because I love old clothes, its one of the main reasons I watch "old" movies! And I kinda wish fashion was what it used to be, but sometimes change is good. I just wish we could bring back the old classy looks from the 40s-70s.

Doctor Who celebrates 50 years! by Anna Pickett

On November 23, 2013, the television show Doctor Who celebrated its 50th anniversary. In 1963, the very first episode premiered, with William Hartnell starring as the lead role, a character known as "the Doctor." Essentially, the show is about a time-travelling alien who travels throughout time and space with a companion. After a few seasons, Hartnell had an illness that rendered him unable to continue in the show. The creators quickly came up with an easy way to continue the show: the Doctor will regenerate when the character dies, which means that his appearance would change. Since then, there have been 11.5 Doctors (William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvestor McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, and John Hurt).
The half Doctor is John Hurt, who is a regeneration of the Doctor, but isn't labeled as the Doctor (it's all explained in the anniversary special, it's really confusing). Matt Smith is the current Doctor, but is being replaced at Christmas by actor Peter Capaldi. On Saturday, the 50th anniversary special was simulcast around the globe.
It was shown in theaters in multiple locations, and shown in 3D is a select amount (luckily, there was one in Plano). It was shown on television as well. Doctor Who is the longest running Sci-Fi television show, and it definitely deserves to go on for another 50 years! I saw the special on Saturday, and it was one of the best things to ever hit the TV/movie screen. It starred David Tennant, Matt Smith, John Hurt, and special appearances from Tom Baker and the other Doctors.
Left to Right: Steven Moffat, John Hurt, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Jenna Coleman
The writer, Steven Moffat has outdone himself once again. There were funny moments (like Tennant's Doctor talking to a rabbit), creepy moments (a transformation to an alien), hopeful, happy moments (Smith talking to Baker at the end), suspenseful, exciting (basically everything), and sad moments (the very end). Moffat, as a writer, is able to develop exciting plots that leave you wanting more. It was fantastic! If you haven't seen the show, go watch it!

Doctor Who 50th by Becca Hodge

*spoilers*
50 years ago, yesterday, a british sci-fi television show called Doctor Who aired it's very first episode. Since then, we have seen 11, well 12, well 13, doctors, 8 sonic screwdrivers, 33 series, 9 masters, 93 companions, 321 species of aliens, and 799 individual episodes. Yesterday afternoon, the 50th anniversary episode "The Day of the Doctor" aired all across the world. More than 10 million people tuned in to watch this special episode. This kind of number broke the world record easily, its competitor, X Factor, sat at 7.7 million people. This episode was taken very well and was liked by the pubic. It was witty, emotional and had you at he edge of your seat (MOFFAT!). With in the episode there were many surprise visits from former doctors and new doctors. Yes Peter Capaldi, the newly named 12th doctor, did make an appearance. There was a beautiful moment where they (Hurt, Tennant and Smith) were saving the world as always and brought in a little help. All 13, yes 13, doctors made an appearance. They started with William Hartnell and slowly went through all of the doctors saying inspirational things such as "commencing calculations" and "lock on to coordinates." In the end everyone lives and they are all happy. Another important scene is after they have "saved Gallifrey" they are back at the museum which is where they started. The doctors say their goodbyes and soon it is just the 11th doctor, Matt Smith, by himself. A mysterious man starts talking and we see the back of his head. The camera pans around and we see it is non other than Tom Baker, the fourth doctor. It is a very exciting moment for the audience given that we know who he is. The final scene is also very moving. We see Matt Smith walk out of the TARDIS and join a long line of men. As fans, you would recognize them as all of the doctors. He reaches an empty spot between David and John and finishes the line. And that is all we have of the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. Source

I as a huge fan of Doctor Who, I very much enjoyed this. I was lucky to see it in 3D and the whole experience was absolutely brilliant. I think it is amazing that so many people can connect over a television series. At the showing, there were so many people cosplaying (dressing up) as the characters (including me) and everyone was talking about how excited there were for the show. The amount of people interested in Doctor Who as much as I was, was astounding.  Its nice that people are all across the world, speaking different languages, wearing different clothes, came together and watched an episode of a science fiction show.

*my take on the show, you don't have to read this, I just wanted to say it . I hope all of the whovians reading this agree with me*
oh. my. god. where do I start? Rose, how about that? Billie wasn't even Rose! At points though, she did look at David with a little something in her eye if ya know what I mean. I think the most crushing part, emotionally, for me, was when they were all together and John says "Bad Wolf girl i could kiss you!" and David was just so confused. His reaction to that was so sad and ah I just can't. Next, Peter Capaldi. Literally, all they showed were his eyes and forehead and the entire theatre screamed.
^thats it. Also that blessed moment where Christopher was shown, that was just a knife straight for the heart. The entire rest of the show I was just waiting for him to come out and say "fantastic" or something of that nature. The fez. Let me just stop it at, David wearing a fez. John Hurt's doctor was a perfect doctor before 9, 10 and 11. He was very witty and smart-alecky which reminded me of 9. The Zygons. I was confused at how it ended. The doctor makes them forget whether they are human or Zygon but thats all we hear. Who knows if it actually worked. I do understand that they were not the main problem of the story and they Moffat had to elaborate on the bigger issue but it would have been nice if he could resolve it better. I think Moffat did a very good job of telling the sad story of the time war yet making it funny in many places. I give him a lot of credit for that. He is a great writer no doubt. I hope other whovians agree with me or not, please tell me in a comment, I would love that.

Couple Arrested in UK for 30 Year Enslavement by Kera Mickus

On Thursday, British Police arrested a couple for human trafficking and enslavement of three women - a 30 year old from Briton, a 57 year old from Ireland, and a 69 year old from Malaysia. One of the women -- a 30-year-old Briton -- "appears to have been in servitude for her entire life," Metropolitan Police Detective Inspector Kevin Hyland said.
The names of the accused were not released, and police said only that they are not British nationals. They were later released on bail.
Hyland said it was an unprecedented case for the Met's Human Trafficking Unit. "We've seen some cases where people have been held for up to 10 years, but we've never seen anything of this magnitude before," he said.
Police said they'd been alerted in October to the situation by Freedom Charity, which got a phone call from a woman saying "she had been held against her will in a house in London for more than 30 years." Freedom Charity spokeswoman Aneeta Prem said the organization had taken "immediate action" to plan a rescue after learning of the women's situation.
Its crazy to think that slavery still exists today, and for that long. It seems a little unusual that no one knew, since they were in servitude for 30 years at least, and that it had taken place in a urban part of London. I found it a little unbelievable that the couple got away with it for that long, and that the three women never said anything. Its good to know that they got their freedom back, though.

heart surgery preformed with out power- Andrew Tunell

In Tanzania Dr Godwin Godfrey was preforming heart surgery when the power went out.  The patient was a 6 year old girl. Open heart surgery is very difficult and usually requires electricity to help the patient breath and to serve as a artificial heart. Godfrey and his team knew about the usual black outs and had the machines hooked up to a manual handle and emergency power, luckily because of this the patient survived.

I think this is very luck that the girl survived this and i am impressed that Dr. Godfrey was still able to complete the surgery in the dark. Im glad that we have better emergency power equipment in hospitals here, and I think we need to help other countries have the same standards. Also Dr. Godfrey was the only youth heart surgeon in all of Tanzania, I think that needs to change as well.

D-FW ghost hunters burned down a haunted plantation in Louisiana *facepalm*

That's right. Ghost hunters are accused of burning down a plantation that was haunted. Authorities said they were smoking pot and drinking inside the plantation. Wow. This is just stupid. They just sat in chairs and smoked weed. They didn't barely do anything to get the ghosts' attention. I'm just stunned and filled with anger. I have nothing else to say. Cameron Ordinario

The Perfect Kill - Max Gaddis

http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/21/world/europe/europe-codebreaker-faulding/index.html?hpt=wo_t4

The body of a MI6 codebreaker named Gareth Williams was found in a locked bag in his own bathtub in 2010. The lock was on the outside, so people thought it was a murder, but some people thought he did it to himself. There was a lack of evidence, police say, to make the case a murder case, but there were no fingerprints on the bathtub to back up the theory that he did it to himself. There were no fingerprints on the padlock, the bag, the zipper, or even on the tub. Investigators say that even Houdini couldn't pull off a trick like this. Williams' whole apartment was searched and no unusual fingerprints were found. There was a scuff mark on the tub that could've come from the bag that Williams was found in. Confined Spaces expert Peter Faulding says that this means that the bag was lifted into the tub which suggests a murderer was present. He also says it was impossible for Williams to put himself into the bag because he had to touch something in order to push himself into the bag. There would've been more scuff marks and fingerprints around the tub if this were the case.

This reminds me of those "you be the judge" books that I liked to read all the time, but this also seems like a hard case to crack if it's taken almost four years to solve. I think that they should factor in everything when attempting to solve this case because every little detail counts.

Toronto mayor STILL wont resign/ By Jackson Daughety

Toronto mayor Robert Ford once again admits to his mistakes. He also still refuses to resign. He said: "I want to move forward, but I also know to move forward I have to make changes in my life, which I can assure you that I will do," he added. "I love the work I do, and I'm going to keep doing it." which is a noble thing to say, but his promises get increasingly meaningless as he continues to make more and more treacherous mistakes, making a fool of himself, as well as the city of Toronto. This is seriously getting out of hand. There has to be some law that allows people to impeach the mayor, or something of that sort. Even if this law doesn't exist, they just need to get rid of this guy at all costs. The longer he is on office the worse he becomes. http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/03/world/americas/canada-toronto-mayor-crack/index.html?hpt=wo_bn5

Latvian supermarket roof collapses by Katelyn McLane

The roof of a Latvian supermarket collapsed on Thursday, killing at least 53 people. They are still searching for more survivors. The president describes the incident as "basically mass murder", and authorities are saying that they suspect the reason for this to happen was a bunch of supplies and materials stored on the roof. The people there will be mourning until Monday, and the government has decided to give quite large amounts of money to the families of firefighters that died in a second collapse that happened after rescue workers had arrived at the site. Other rescue workers' injuries will also be paid for. This is reported to be the deadliest accident in the Baltic state since they gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

It's terrible that an accident like this could be described as a mass murder. I hope other supermarkets and companies take this into consideration and make sure not to store anything on the roofs of their buildings anymore. My heart goes out to the families of all the people injured and killed, but I do think that the president and government is handling it well by paying for certain injuries and such. Hopefully people learn their lessons from this horrible accident and it doesn't happen again.

Cold Run Cancelled, By Jon Cope

Cold Run Cancelled, By Jon Cope

Summary:
Every year for the past thirty five years, there would be a fundraiser where tons of people would come to run in the sea in Lowestoft, Suffolk, United Kingdom on Christmas Day. This fundraiser would raise hundreds of thousands of pounds (£1 = $1.62). Unfortunately, this year this even has been cancelled due to a lack of administration and funding. There would've been a £1200 charge for insurance in order to run it.

Analysis:
I find this sad, as I believe this is a great form for a fundraiser. And the money used from this organization would have been sent to charity, which could have saved someone's life. Hopefully it will continue next year.

Albanian Prison Break- Amanda Maceda.

At around 6:30 Greenwich Mean Time, seven Albanian prisoners escaped from the Drenove prison area. Details of the jailbreak itself aren't available, but the local media says the men were able to disarm the guards. Also, most of these men were serving life sentences for murder, making them more dangerous. Only one man is said to have been caught, but special forces are heading their way. Road block have also been set up. source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-25071710

Luxury Watch Heist in Paris by Angelica Fischer

A jewelry store in an upscale district of Paris was robbed. French policeman stand and investigate in front of a jewelry store that was attacked in Paris, France. An estimated 800,000 euros worth of luxury watches were stolen. It wasn't the first time a large heist happened in the high-end neighborhood. In September, burglars stole more than 1 million euros worth of jewelry from another store nearby.

I think this is terrible and people need to stop robbing jewelry stores. And stop robbing in general too! If they want money or jewelry they should go out and get a good paying job so they can buy the jewelry or what ever else they want to buy with their own stacks of cash.

Women held for 30 years By Becca Hodge

Three women were discovered after being held in slavery for more than 30 years. This is the longest the police have faced with modern day slavery. The two people help under the charges for the slavery of these women were arrested. The three women were found after they called a charity and asked for help.

I think this is very strange. That these women were slaves for more than 30 years and in a normal home in South London and no one knew. These people responsible for this must be out of their minds, I hope they get helped.

Intense Car Chase by Zoey Crummey

In New Mexico, a woman was pulled over for going 71 in a 55 mile per hour speed zone. She had five children in her car.The woman pulled over proceeded to argue with the officer, and then drove away while he was checking paperwork. Immediately the officer pursued her and she was pulled over again. The lady refused to get out of her car, and the officer tried to force her out, causing chaos in the backseat among her children. Matters continued to escalate when the officer began to beat the windows out of her car as she drive away, and to top it all off a different officer shot at the back of her van even though there were children inside.

I think that this whole situation is completely ridiculous and very dangerous. The woman should have avoided all of this trouble and simply taken the speeding ticket. She is now facing much more serious convictions. I think that the officer should have thought more carefully about his actions before he began shooting, though. I don't know the law and how it all works, but the fact that there were five innocent children being shot at is scary.

freediver dies by Eleanor E-W

Nicholas Mevoli, a freediver died after trying to set a record. In freediving people dive very deep (the record he was trying to set was 236 feet) without any assistance--no equipment, no oxygen. Nicholas Mevoli dived and came up, but once he gave the 'OK' sign he passed out, and unfortunately died.

I've never heard of freediving before, but it sounds really dangerous. The article talks about how people find it a mental sport as while as a physical one, and how you have to be ' in the moment'. I'm sad that he died, but I think he knew the risk of what he was doing.

In Ireland, Bank Creates Jobs While Another Company Cuts Some - by Frances Garnett

Deutsche Bank, a German bank, has recently announced that it has plans to create around seven-hundred new jobs over the next four years, by expanding their technology and operations unit and their global transaction and banking business to a new, large office in Eastpoint Business Park in Dublin. This announcement is a big deal, since it's once of the biggest this year. The company plans to create a secure investment there by building up a regional centre. One official said that this is a "huge vote of confidence" for Ireland's economy, and is about continued investment there. On the other hand, Lufthansa Technik Airmotive, in Ireland, is considering closing the company, which would result in the loss of about four-hundred jobs, because of the decreasing incomes and international market opportunities. It's also because the increasingly advanced aircraft engines are better in quality and are more efficient, so they don't have as great of a need for maintenance. The company is negotiating with trade unions, in case the closure is deemed inevitable, in order to make sure the soon-to-be-unemployed workers will get their pension entitlements and other parts of packages to help support them. All the unions are trying to save as many jobs as possible. The employees are also unhappy with this, since the future is very bleak for young and old workers alike.

My prior knowledge about Ireland's economy is nil, but I do know that the whole world is kind of going through an economic recession right now, and Europe especially has increasing unemployment rates. Many companies are doing all they can to create jobs, just like Deutsche Bank has, but some can't manage to, and even have to cut back, like Lufthansa Technik Airmotive. I believe this article was written to contrast the two cases, but also to show how companies should be making progress in these times instead of cutting jobs. What I found interesting about this article is how they are cutting jobs because the machines are more efficient. What if one day there are no more needs for humans in the labour workforce because, maybe, machines are doing everything for us? It happened in factories, and during the industrial revolution. What if machines took the place of several other jobs today, like chefs, doctors, teachers, even performers? That would put so many people out of work, but maybe that is the way we are going.

ENTIRE ISLAND'S POPULATION SAVED FROM TYPHOON YOLANDA BY TREVOR WALKER

1000 people were evacuated before typhoon Yolanda hit their island and not one died! All residents of Tulang Diyot Island in a Cebu town survived even if some 500 houses were destroyed by winds and waves from typhoon Yolanda, a UN report said. The report attributed the absence of casualties to the evacuation of around 1,000 people from the island under San Francisco town Mayor Alfredo Arquillano’s orders. “When it was clear how bad the typhoon would be, we decided to evacuate all 1,000 people,” the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction quoted the mayor as saying. Arquillano, who UNISDR recognized as a champion of for its Making Cities Resilient Campaign, said his constituents also “understood the need to move to safety.”

“My goodness, it was a good decision; it’s fair to say it saved everyone’s life. There is not one house left standing on the island, everything was wiped out,” Arquillano said. Tulang Diyot is part of Cebu province’s Camotes Islands, in between larger Cebu and Leyte islands. it is about 1.5 kilometers long and 500 meters across at its widest. Yolanda battered Cebu and neighboring provinces November 8, taking thousands of lives and destroying property with powerful winds and huge waves. “We have been working for years on early warnings, evacuations,” said Arquillano, under whose leadership San Francisco won a UN Disaster Risk Reduction Award in 2011. “It just shows that preparedness pays,” the mayor said further, adding that “the awareness level of the community was so high that it went well.”

Murderer of three pleads guilty by Josie Blossfeld

Summary: Joanna Dennehy, a 31 year old woman from Bifield, Orton Goldhay, Peterborough, pleaded guilty to killing three men and throwing their bodies in a ditch. She allegedly stabbed these men, whose bodies were found between March and April, all three sometime in March. Though a motive is not listed yet, she has pleaded guilty and will most likely face a life sentence in prison.
Analysis: Its a tragedy that these men are now dead, but I'm glad they've tracked down the killer. Now there is one less murderer off the streets. I wonder what her motive was though? These men appear to be people she dated(?), so likely the motive was for their money or out of jealousy.

Gunman in Paris By: Hannah Kerman

A man in Paris shot a photographer twice near the heart and now he is in intensive care. The man may have been caught in other scenes with similar appearance, but the police are not positive it is him. The suspect may have also opened fire in front of an international bank, which was near his last shooting. Also, another assailant threatened journalists in BFMTV. If the same assailant is responsible for all of these, he is going to be in jail for a very long time.
This is absolutely awful and I don't know why anyone would ever think about killing a person, let alone attempt it. It's great that the photographer is still alive, but he may not be for long because of serious injuries. If the assailant gets caught and found guilty for all cases, he is going to be in serious trouble and may even stay in jail for life. No person should ever do that and it completely violates a majority of our laws!

"Piano Horror" by Bob Cummins

"Piano Horror" is what Sonia Bosom uses to describe her "four years of suffering" when she was the downstairs neighbor of Spanish professional pianist, Laia Martin from 2003 to 2007.  Bosom claims that in that time, Martin would practice 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.  She has recently filed a case against her and is seeking a 20-month prison sentence for her and six months without playing piano, even though she originally wanted a sentence over 7 years long.  Even thought the defense says that the Martin family tried to soundproof the room, she claims that she can't even see pianos in films because of her horror for pianos.  The verdict is expected within two weeks.

There is definitely something very wrong with this individual.  She could have prevented "suffering" four years of piano.  She could have moved, complained to Martin personally, or even soundproofed her own room.  Hopefully the court won't declare her guilty of noise pollution.  This professional pianist, according to the evidence present, wasn't trying to bother this lady.  I just don't get how much she hated listening to her play piano that she can't even look at pianos in movies anymore.

63-year-old escapes Nigerian kidnappers? -Julianne Swaykus

"Francis Collomp, 63-year-old engineer held for a year, escapes Nigerian Islamists on a motorbike taxi while his captors are at prayer". He escaped because they kept the door open. He was kidnapped last December by the Islamist group, Ansaru, while working.
I think that it is really stupid that they left the door open during prayer. It must have taken a while for a 63-year-old to escape...

Tornado in Illinois by Anna Pickett

A tornado touched down in multiple Illinois cities this afternoon. Lots of damage occurred in some the towns. There are tornado watches being issued in states around Illinois. An NFL game was delayed because of strong winds at the field. I hope that everyone is okay from the damage! This is a pretty destructive tornado, so I hope no one is severely hurt. My prayers go out to anyone who might have lost their homes.

To keep or not to keep? By Madelyn Winkelman

In March 2012 over 1,400 paintings where discovered in Cornelius Gurlitts apartment during a routine tax inspection. The paintings look to be the works of Marc Chagall, Pallo Picasso, Matisse, Otto Dix, and Max Liebermann. Many Jewish families and museums want to obtain the paintings, but Gurlitts is persistent in his wishes to keep them. The paintings have been taken out of Gurlitts possession though as investigations are going on and their location is unknown to Gurlitt and the public.

I don't really have an opinion on this, I can honestly sympathize from both parties points of view. I can understand that the families that know certain paintings are theirs would want them back, but I don't see why the threat of imprisoning Gurlitt should be around. Its not like he is the one who stole the paintings and kept them hidden away, he inherited them through his family and felt entitled to keep them or sell them. But I will probably keep up with the investigations as they go on to see if I can find a side to support.

drone malfunction causes 2 injuries- Andrew Tunell

At Point Mugu off the coast of souther California a drone malfunctioned. The USS Chancellorsville a guided missile cruiser was testing the radar with the drone when it malfunctioned and crashed in to the ship. The two sailors were injured with minor burns, and the ship was damaged from the collision.  The cause of the malfunction is unknown.
Drones are already a point of controversy in the United States because of the amount of civilian casualties caused by them. I think this is proof that it is still a imperfected technology.  I think drones can be useful to help reduce the number of US solider casualties but the Arm needs to use them more responsibly.

Fire traps 32 crew on Danish cargo ship by Katelyn McLane

A fire that started on Saturday is still burning today. The crew on the cargo ship has tried to put it out, but the fire just continues to burn because of the fuel in the ship. The source of the fire is still unknown.

This is quite unfortunate. I hope that these people find a way to get out of the burning ship and fix other ships so that a fire like this doesn't occur again.

Remarks on "Horse Meat" Deemed Brave by Kera Mickus

Summary: Princess Anne -- Queen Elizabeth II's daughter and the organization's president -- suggested that making horse meat more valuable might lead to better treatment of the animals. The Olympic equestrian remarked saying that many horses, while in transit from Poland, were beautiful and quite gorgeous before taking the long trip to Britain, but because of their declined value - and availability - that many resorted to treating them quite harshly. "It's worth noting transport of horses itself is the problem -- not the horses or indeed the way they were brought up," she said. The Princess even then suggested that our "our attitudes to the horse meat trade ... and the value of horse meat might have to change."
World Horse Welfare chief executive Roly Owers said the Princess Royal had made her point "within the context of the equine crisis we're currently in" when ponies are being sold for as little as £5 ($8). "The killing of horses for meat is an emotive subject as many see them as companion animals rather than a food source, a sentiment the RSPCA has great sympathy with. "However, the Society's primary concern for all animals killed for meat and otherwise is that they are cared for, handled and transported in a way which safeguards their welfare at all times."
My Opinion: Well, first off, being that I am American, and did not grow up eating Charlie or his friends, I have a considerable opposition to eating horses at all. But being that other countries have different values than America, and different "norms", I could say that I understand why Britons eat horse meat. I agree with what Princess Anne says, and definitely for the improved treatment of ponies and horses on their transit ride. The only neigh I have against this (ha!) is the fact that they still eat the horse meat. Horses were originally eaten in World War II - ONLY due to the fact that it was a very critical and needy time. Now, the horses are eaten because they are cheaper than selling them for sports or leisure riding. But I seriously doubt that will ever completely stop.

Mexican government militarily takes care of drug problem. By Jackson Daughety

The Mexican government has now put the port of Lazaro Cardenas under military control. This is after countless drug cartel problems. The state of Michoacan has been a serious problem even though a lot of other states have actually been improving. It's really good to see that the Mexican government is actually doing something about this drug cartel issue. I think controlling this port will keep a lot of drugs from leaving or entering the country, which is clearly a step in the right direction. http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/05/world/americas/mexico-troops-to-port/index.html

Shipwreck yet again by Lefkada- Amanda Maceda

Yesterday, a 23-26ft boat full of people who are guessed to be refugees from Syria sank off the coast of Lefkada near Greece. The reason the boat sank is unclear at this moment. Authorities only found out because some made it onto land and contacted them. "There have been cases in the past where smugglers tricked the immigrants and left them on Lefkada, claiming they had arrived in Italy,” Now, at least 12 of the migrants have drowned with a third of them being children. “Greek government spokesman Simos Kedikoglou said the "new tragedy off Lefkada" confirmed the "need to immediately implement initiatives taken by the European Union, with Greece's initiative, too, to deal with the problem of illegal migration".

Trashy Madrid--JULIA WOLTJEN

SUMMARY:  After the strike Madrid street cleaners started 2 weeks ago trash has been piling up everywhere in Madrid. Small business owners are complaining to the mayor saying that the trash is hurting their business! Everyone is complaining that the city looks so dirty everywhere you go, and some say that health hazards may be caused by the trash accumulation.

ANALYSIS:  Madrid needs to get its act together and get the workers to stop the strike. If not than the city could have a serious issue on it's hands.

European Airports Aim To End Liquid Ban on Planes by Angelica Fischer

In both Europe and U.S., flyers are restricted to no more than 3.4 ounces of liquids and gels in their carry-on bags. London is taking the first step toward the goal of lifting restrictions on liquids by 2016. They are planning to install new liquid scanning technology at Heathrow Airport. The Ohio-based company which developed the liquid scanners says it scans containers in less than 10 seconds, using radio frequency and ultrasonic technology.

I think this idea of the liquid ban is a perfect idea and I hope it lifts the restrictions by 2016 because the little liquid containers can explode and no one wants their plane to explode and crash. I hop all the airports around the world consider the liquid scanners.

Street cleaners on strike by: Shadden Hashem

Madrid street cleaners have gone on a strike that has caused trash to be piling up for two weeks. Mayor Ana Botella has been feeling the pressure from hotel and shop owners who have said that the strike is hurting the city's image and their businesses. The trashcans and recycling bins on the street are overflowing and the leaves aren't being swept up either. "It's impossible not to notice it. It's very sad. The city looks absolutely dirty," said a Peruvian businessman Jack Falcon. Health hazards are also becoming a concern although the city has not reached that point. The trash remains to pile up.
This sounds terrible. I would hate to be living in that city right now. I can imagine how upset the business and people must be. They need to find a way to solve this issue soon.

the competition begins with Sony and Microsoft (technology/Economy) --Robert (Tobyo) Swofford

This article does not exactly seem like the best current event in the world....but I think this is something worth mentioning, especially in the gaming market.
Sony's PS4 is being release tomorrow as I'm writing thins article now, and reading this makes me wonder what hardcore gamers really think of the current generation of consoles, such as the Xbox One, PS4, and Wii U.

This talks of a kid getting ahead of the rush for the PS4, yet you would think that the hardcore fan base would be lining up, yet they did not show up until later 6pm the day before the actual release day. Being the latest console form sony since the PS3, 7 years from now, you would think people would be waiting a full day in advance. later, the lines do come up to crazy amounts, and tickets are distributed amongst the customers.

Not exactly a worthy article, but this was just interesting, after a 7 year gap from systems to system yet not a huge explosion of fans wanting the new system....well not as huge as I thought it would be. While the new Xbox One is to be more expensive and a lesser from the PS4. I honestly just find this weird....and the Xbox One is to have a bigger initial sale day than the PS4....

this just boggles me...if your are a dedicated gamer I think you could relate to these scenarios of a superior consoles and etc.

Cracked mayor 'reviving help' by Becca Hodge

Toronto's Mayor, Rob Ford, told the press that he is receiving help for his issues. The mayor admitted to smoking crack cocaine at the office recently and was filmed threatening to kill an unknown man. He 'realizes his problems' and is trying to fix them.

This dude is crazy. I'm glad he is getting help, but I still don't think he is fit for office. They really need to do something about him.

The Trash of Madrid - Max Gaddis

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/nov/14/blame-madrid-rubbish-mayor-botilla

Madrid's street cleaner strike has left the city in piles of rubbish. The mayor, Ana Botella, has been blamed for the bad smells and unsightly trash hanging around Spain's capital. On November 5th, street cleaners walked out over plans for layoffs. Since then, the city has gotten increasingly more dirty, smelly, and disgusting. Tourism has dropped in the city and businesses are losing money and customers because they are unfortunate enough to be near or have a large pile of uncollected trash near them. Residents and locals can't even go outside on their own patios for fear of the smell and sight. Not all trash has been left out because not all workers are on strike, but the little that is being collected does the city no difference. Mayor Botella has been deemed incapable of running the city because of this strike. This Wednesday, she finally acknowledged the strike and declared than the workers had 48 hours to come up with something, or she would bring in a public-sector company to do what needed to be done. Public employees have no intentions of doing what Botella tells them to.

I think they need to just recycle and wash stuff and not be worried about trash. The first image that popped into my mind when I read this story was a Wall-E type situation.

This shows how much this city consumes and, to be honest, it's saddening. This is effecting their economy, politics, and social relations with other countries, and real soon, it will be affecting their geography, which is the fourth PEGS needed to deplete the city's resources and delete it from the face of the Earth. They need to come up with a solution to this before we end up not being able to stand up on our own two feet.

Facebook Rights a Wrong by Zoey Crummey

On 8:22 AM on Sunday, Jamie Virkler posted on Facebook about her brother's bad day at work, hoping she would get a couple words of encouragement. Her brother has Asberger's, and was yelled at while working at the cash register for being too slow. He was very hurt over the  incident, and couldn't get over it even later that day. When the post went up, the comment began flooding in. Thousands of people left encouraging words and the post even got 100,000 likes. Chris, the brother, has been very pleased and encouraged.

I think that this is so wonderful. The fact that Facebook has helped one man so much is encouraging. Usually social media is used negatively, or can beat someone down in cases if cyber yelling;however, this was a positive use. I think our world needs to see more events like this and less depressing ones where people get hurt. I am very happy for Chris and glad that this has helped him though a rough patch.

Summery: In the Philippines, a Typhoon named, "Haiyan," is reeking havoc upon the people there. The typhoon has been destroying land, and killing many people. Bodies are still laid out on the streets and people are terrified, houses are being destroyed and other terrible things.

Analysis: This is sad. Natural disasters are very hard to predict. They kill, destroy, and take as they please for no good reason. There's no stopping them either. We just have to wait and see. Of course thats not totally true, we can always donate to help out. You guys should try that.

Well that's that.
Here's the link to donate.
And here's the news.

Record price on painting in Europe by Sam Stromness

A painting by Francis Bacon was just sold in Europe, it sold for even more than The Scream did last year. Bacon was an European artist working primarily in the mid-1900's. In the article it stated that his studio was destroyed in a fire at one point which probably made his work much more valuable. Bacon had a very interesting style and it was probably very influential in his time; however, personally, I find myself somewhat indifferent to his work.

Student use gun to defend themselves by Eleanor E-W

Two students from Gonzaga University are in trouble for using a gun to defend themselves against an intruder. The intruder was a man who had just got out of prison and came to their apartment door looking for money. The man tried to walk inside of the house and one of the students brought out a pistol. At this point the man ran away. The University has a policy against having guns, and the students could be expelled for this.

I think that gun laws in the United States should be more restricted, however this has more to do with the University policy which the students disobeyed, then gun control.  The man didnt actually do anything to harm the students, although I suppose he potentially could have. I think the students should not have possessed guns in the first place, and should be punished.

Civilian Uprisings Against Crime Gangs in a Mexican State - by Frances Garnett

In Tepalcatepec, in the Mexican state of Michoacan, there have been armed civilian uprisings where the citizens have actually taken control over the region's towns after being controlled by an organized crime gang, the Knights of Templar, for seven years, and before that being a spot with many drug trafficking groups. The Knights of Templar stolen a lot of iron ore and taxed it, making about sixty million dollars a month. This group has been also controlling the government in that area for some time, and victimized the people there as well. The merchants there said that they would either cut your head off or run you out of town if you didn't pay them. The accountants working for the gang require high amounts of tax on vehicles, housing, harvested fruit and profits of store owners. But, the residents saw that the catalyst for the uprising was their abductions of young girls, and how they would also get them pregnant. Jose Manuel Mireles, a physician started Tepalcatepec's self-defense group in February, and other groups have also arisen. They're now armed with several kinds of weapons, more than half of them taken from the crime group. Around five thousand civilians have joined the group, even knowing that it is illegal, and it may remain that way until the authorities "hand over" the leaders of the Knights Templar. It's been acknowledged that it might be years before the groups dissolve. In the "liberated" areas, mayors accused of working with the gang have also fled.

I don't really know who wrote the article, but I think they are trying to influence the audience so that they'll think that while this is possibly the only option available to the people of the region, it is not really a success story, because it's just replacing one illegally armed group with another. I agree with the writer, because I believe that violence is never the answer, but I also hope that this will spark a change in the government to make it less corrupt, so the people won't have to defend themselves like this anymore. After all, throughout history revolutions and uprisings have brought about (sometimes good, but usually productive) changes, and though this is not one of those, it is still a step in the right direction. From this article, we can draw the conclusion that something needs to be done about Mexico's current state, not just to eliminate armed groups, but also to bring justice to the people.

Let's Take a Look at US Casualties BY TREVOR WALKER

Did you know that in the 21st century alone there were more than 100,000 soldiers killed or wounded? Sure, that's nothing compared to the Civil War with at least a million killed or wounded because they didn't have the same medical equipment as today, but still. Think about the number of families and friends who are still grieving over a loved one's injury or death.
And these people's lives had just begun to blossom into a flowery bush with so much fruit, not even the Garden of Eden could compete with it. The only good thing about these casualties is that they won, and it ended with a shower of confetti and a good minute of silence for them. But you still can't bring back the person you love and care for.

Hungary Struggles With Anti-Semitism by Bob Cummins

Hungary has one of the biggest Jewish communities in Europe.  According to a study by Andras Kovaces from Budapest's Central European University, 24 percent of people living in Hungary had some kinds of anti-Semitic prejudices  back in 2011... That's a big part of the population, 10 to 15 percent more than 20 years ago.  He blamed the Jobbik party, which is openly anti-Semitic.  In the 2010 elections, this party won 17 percent of votes.  Many open acts against the Jews have happened in the past couple of years including anti-Semitic chants at a football game against Israel.  On a postitive note, the Jewish community is very vibrant in Hungary nowadays.

Here's what I have to say to these people.  What have Jews done to you?  Is there really an issue here?  And lastly, if you have any prejudices or dislike for a group, just keep it to yourself.  If you're going to live in this world with everybody else, you should show some respect for groups, classes, races, etc. other than your own.  I do find it cool that the Jewish community is flourishing during this ridiculous religion/racism.

Talk about a heartless mom by: Hannah Kerman

A mom of 14 in Colombia sold her daughter's virginity. One of the daughters stepped up and told the police, but it was so hard to get more information from the girl, because she ran away. A year later, she came back and told the police who the man was that got her pregnant and the police arrested him, although he refuses to comment. Of the 14 children. two were not forced into prostitution only because of their age. Apparently when the girls turned 12, they had to sell their virginity for 100-200 dollars.

This is preposterous! People who do that, are absolutely sick and to make it worse, it was their own mother forcing this upon them! I'm sure it goes on in so many other places and lots of other innocent children are being put through that forced torture. Countries need to stop that stuff and lowering the rates of it happening. It's threatening to the people and the government.
