"Piano Horror" by Bob Cummins

"Piano Horror" is what Sonia Bosom uses to describe her "four years of suffering" when she was the downstairs neighbor of Spanish professional pianist, Laia Martin from 2003 to 2007.  Bosom claims that in that time, Martin would practice 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.  She has recently filed a case against her and is seeking a 20-month prison sentence for her and six months without playing piano, even though she originally wanted a sentence over 7 years long.  Even thought the defense says that the Martin family tried to soundproof the room, she claims that she can't even see pianos in films because of her horror for pianos.  The verdict is expected within two weeks.

There is definitely something very wrong with this individual.  She could have prevented "suffering" four years of piano.  She could have moved, complained to Martin personally, or even soundproofed her own room.  Hopefully the court won't declare her guilty of noise pollution.  This professional pianist, according to the evidence present, wasn't trying to bother this lady.  I just don't get how much she hated listening to her play piano that she can't even look at pianos in movies anymore.

  1. I agree with you, she could have just sound proofed her room or moved or something! It's ridiculous to send someone to jail for playing the piano.

  2. There are so many ways that woman could have settled her problem with the piano. She could have worn earplugs, moved, payed for one of the rooms to be soundproof, spent less time in her house, or moved.

  3. Ok, what's wrong with this lady, all the pianist is doing is practicing!!!!! Isn't this a good thing? Just deal with it or leave!!! Don't send them to jail for making awesome music!

  4. I could definitely understand how listening to piano all the time could drive someone crazy--but if it was so bad, she just should have moved out instead of 'suffering' for four year!
