Somali pirate sayes $1.6 Million ransom paid for German -American journalist release MARIELA LOMELI

Negotiators paid $1.6 million ransom for the release an American-German journalist. He was held for 2 years and 8 months in Somalia where he was kidnapped. Michael Scott Moore, 45, was flown to Kenya's capital after being freed in Somalia.
The Somali pirates negotiated with Somali intermediaries acting on behalf of Germany. Bille Hussein, a pirate commander of Hobyo said that the  pirates grew tired of holding Moore and were increasingly concerned the U.S would attempt to use force against them. Thankfully, Moore is now at the German Embassy.
This act of kidnapping is inhuman. After reading this, I know that not all pirates arrrr like what they seem. These pirates should stop playing around and actually get a life. All they know what to do is molest other people and take their money. If one of them were ever to read this I would tell them they don't deserve that money and to find another job. You portentous parasite. www. foxnews.com/2014/6h-/pirate/steal/no/life

Angler Uses Bow and Arrow to Catch Record-Setting, 809-Pound Mako Shark by jack rogers

http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2214599-angler-uses-bow-and-arrow-to-catch-record-setting-809-pound-mako-shark?utm_source=m.cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=m.cnn-sports-bin

An angler named Jeff Thomason caught a record breaking mako shark weighing 809 pounds and 11 feet long beating the previous record holder by 300 pounds. The shark was caught by a bow and arrow. It was caught in Huntington Beach,California. Jeff Thomason is a host of a hunting show called predator pursuit so he has a good idea of what he is doing.

This guy must have some balls to be catching an 800 pound shark with a bow and arrow because even though he has some training through his survival show he still could've gotten seriously injured from this because the arrow has a string wich latches on to the bow so if the shark decides to take off running with the arrow in it the bow is coming with it and whoever holds the bow and once your in the water with an 11 foot 809 pound mako shark with an arrow in it I'm sure that it will not be happy.

9 Ukrainian Soldiers Killed in Donetsk Fighting by Bella Dekhtyar

http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/29/world/europe/ukraine-crisis/

9 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, and 27 were injured on Monday at the Donetsk airport in eastern Ukraine. The soldiers were killed by tank fire, along with 3 civilians who've died and 5 injured. The Ukrainian government reports that 50 separatists fighters have also died. They have been fighting pro-Russian forces for months, and it is still an ever-increasing problem. Not only this, but a ceasefire was even signed by rebel leaders and the Ukrainian government several weeks ago, and was not withheld.

I think this is a struggle that needs to end soon. what's even more shocking is that the Ukrainian forces fire on the civilian areas around the airport periodically as well.

It's obvious that Ukraine wants to split from economic ties with Russia and become a part of the European Union, but Vladimir Putin disagrees with it. It's also an issue that started with the Ukrainian government trying to cancel the status of Russian language as a second state language [it is] and refuse to provide autonomy to the eastern Ukraine, which caused the sudden unrest as well. Basically, both sides seem to fail to negotiate. The violence should end; no one is benefiting from it.

Fence jumper able to reach east room of white house
by Adrianna Martinez

Omar Gonzalez a 42 year old Iraq war veteran jumped the White House fence earlier this month. He breached the mansions doors and surprisingly made it farther than officials believed. With a knife in his pocket Gonzalez was able to overcome one secret service officer and run into the East Room. He was then quickly subdued by other secret service officers. Many believed Gonzalez only reached the front entrance but actually he was able to run through much of the main floor and even past a staircase that leads to the first family's residence.

I believe this is a very serious situation because obviously the White House security is not that great. I believe they need to make their security better to insure an incident like this does not occur again because its a threat to national security and the president's life. Also they need to make the fences that surround the White House taller to prevent other people from intruding who could be a threat to the president and the country .

"'Lone wolves in America' encouraged to attack Times Square, Las Vegas: report" by Tashina Amiro

http://news.yahoo.com/isis-forum-bomb-terror-attack-las-vegas-times-square-182153573.html

If you don't already know from most news channels or even my first post to this blog, ISIS is a terrorist group that has been causing fear in leaders around the world. The group has already seized a lot of land from Northern Syria to central Iraq. In my first blog, I talked about how there was evidence of the group planning on moving to Mexico. Now, there is evidence of possible attacks that could occur in the US. Bomb- making instructions and possible targets have been posted to an online message board, but U.S. Homeland Security still claims that ISIS poses no immediate threat.

Personally, I believe that better precautions should already be taken. By playing this waiting game, U.S. Homeland Security seems to be asking for another 9/11. As an American, I shouldn't feel unsafe in my own country, but due to how the government is dealing with ISIS, I am.

No safe places for children in Gaza by Vern Blossfeld

Summary: Civilian casualty rate has risen with each day so far. Children are bearing the greatest brunt of this terrible conflict. Over 168 children have died already, and 1,100 children have been seriously injured, maimed or burned. Children are gathering around the main emergency hospital, many of them with no surviving relatives. They're also gathering in mosques, in orthodox churches, and in school compounds, before just U.N., but now public schools. Some U.N. schools have reached their capacity of 120,000 people. The vast majority of people in each compound are children, around 1,400. In one alone, Pernille Ironside counted 152 children under the age of 2. 70 percent of the population do not have access to safe water. Water wells have been directly hit, and forty percent of Gaza's sewage is flowing into the Mediterranean. Emergency psycho-social teams are reaching out to families who've lost loved ones in order to provide them some immediate coping skills. All in all, a lot of work needs to be done in Gaza as of September 23.
Analysis: It's terrible that so many citizens have been not only separated from their homes and lives, but also deprived of water and proper shelter, all while coping with the deaths of their families. The fact that so many children have to deal with these things too, at such a young age, is frightening. Hopefully workers are able to provide better shelter and clean water soon to those in need in Gaza.

Case Cockrell- Current Events- 9/23/14

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/israel-shoots-down-syrian-warplane/

Israel shoots down Syrian warplane that was supposedly trying to infiltrate Israel. This was the first warplane that has been shot down in that area in decades. The military would not say what type of aircraft was downed and said the circumstances of the incident were "unclear". The passengers of the aircraft managed to escape and exit the territory, as they would most likely get captured and killed in the event of getting caught.

Syria and Israel have been bitter enemies for years. Syria has accused Israel of authorizing terrorism. They have fought several wars and have not solved any conflicts between them. Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon said We will not allow element, whether it is a terror group or a state, to threaten our security and breach our sovereignty,". I don't think the conflict will be solved anytime soon.

Explosion at a Chinese Firework Factory Results in Many Deaths: by Samantha Arthur

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/09/22/chinese-factory-explosion/16084113/

A firework factory in Southern China had an explosion that killed 12 people and injured 33 people. No one is sure what caused the explosion, but most believe it has to do with safety hazards. China hasn't had the greatest safety regulations, but it is improving so hopefully deadly explosions will not happen again.

What is scary about this explosion is the fact that China produces more fireworks than anywhere in the world, and if they don't have very good safety regulations in their factories, bad things are bound to happen. Factories need to have adequate safety rules, especially when they are dealing with something like fireworks, People need to be able to work in a safe environment.

Hello Kitty 40th Birthday Announces That She Is A Girl!!!! What!?!?!?!? Mariela L.

This is a big 40th year for Ms. Kitty. That's because the perpetual 3rd grader revealed her secret. Although she is not shy about revealing her age, Ms. Kitty announced to the world -            SHE IS NOT A GIRL!!!!!
This rumor was confirmed by Harvard Anthropologist and Hello Kitty expert Christine Yano. The writer had written a script to honor the 40year old and commented she was a " feline". But she was corrected. The Sanrio company revised her work ad straight up told her the truth about Kitty being a girl not a cat . As a matter of fact, Ms. Kitty has a pet cat named Charming Kitty!

Honestly, I had a suspicion that Hello Kitty was not a girl because of a story I got told when I was 10. It goes something like this: There was once a young girl and her mother who raced back and forth from hospitals. The girl was diagnosed with some type of mouth cancer that doctors did not believe she could survive. Everyday, the mother would pray to God for hope of a miracle. Time passed and things only grew worse. The mother grew severely desperate and by this point couldn't think straight anymore. This would lead her to take a decision she would later regret. She did the unthinkable thing to save her poor, little girl from dying. The mom audaciously prayed to the devil. And so the devil came with his loathsome poise to grant her the wish. The next morning the mother went to check on her daughter to see if she was alright. She grabbed the girl's shoulder and saw her face. The woman screamed in horror when she realized what she had done. The little girl's mouth had disappeared.

Hello Kitty's 40th Birth-Day Announces That She Is Not A Girl!!!! What!!

This is a big year for Ms. Kitty since she is celebrating her 40th birthday even though she is a perpetual 3rd grader. Although she isn't shy about revealing her age, she has kept a secret from the world. SHE IS NOT A CAT!
This revelation that began as a rumor, but then confirmed by Hello Kitty expert Christine Yano that she indeed was a girl as a result in calling her a " feline", but then Sanrio companies corrected her. According to them she is a girl, an icon and a character. What is also surprising is that Ms. Kitty has a pet cat called Charming Kitty!

Honest1y, I had the suspicion that she was a girl because of a story I heard when I was about ten. It goes something like this: there was a young girl and a mother who were racing in and out of hospitals since the daughter had some type of mouth cancer. Unfortunately, no doctor gave her good news and told the mother that there was no hope. She prayed everyday to God in hope for a miracle. But things just got worse. She was growing severely desperate and couldn't do a thing and did the unexpected. The mother took the choice of praying to the devil, so her little girl who was rapidly dying could live. So the devil came and granted her the wish. The next day the mom came to check on the little girl to see if she was okay, but right when the mom turned her around, she screamed in horror becausewww.dognews.com/2014/kitty/is/a/liar her little girl had no mouth.

Hong Kong Students Lead Democracy Fight with Class Boycott by Bella Dekhtyar

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/23/world/asia/hong-kong-students-lead-democracy-fight-with-class-boycott.html?_r=0

In continuation of China ruling out open election in Hong Kong, there has been a rally of thousands of Hong Kong university students boycotting the limitation of voting rights proposed by Beijing. The election votes for Hong Kong's top official, which has been a power only China had for more than a decade. About 13,000 students attended the rally on Monday, and will continue to boycott classes until full freedom is delivered.  Many people believe this is only the beginning of how far Hong Kong's residence are willing to go for democracy."'We have to raise our bargaining power,' Alex Chow Yong Kang, the secretary general of the Hong Kong Federation of Students, said in an interview. 'We have to tell them that Hong Kong people are willing to sacrifice much more.'" ~ The New York Times

I think this is definitely going to escalate farther. It's been notified that Hong Kong has been struggling for democracy for years, but has spiked since the final statement from China stating there will be no open vote elections in Hong Kong. China has had full power over Hong Kong's top official elections [the highest position in Hong Kong], being the owner of the territory. Looks like this is a serious matter for Hong Kong, and that they will stop at nothing until China budges.

"Sierra Leone Ebola burial team attacked despite lockdown" by Tashina Amiro

http://news.msn.com/world/sierra-leone-ebola-burial-team-attacked-despite-lockdown

Recently, there has been an outbreak of Ebola in Sierra Leone. Residents have been ordered to stay inside while volunteers educate the people about the disease, isolate the sick, and remove the dead. This past Saturday, while a burial team was doing their duty, a group of "youths" tried to disrupt the burial. Due to this, the burial team has now been ordered to have a stronger presence. Neighboring places, such as Siberia, have had to put up temporary community quarantines; more than 562 people have already died within Sierra Leone. Some have criticized their lockdown measures, so now the U.S. plans to loan aid.

The article didn't say why the "youths" were attempting to disrupt the burial and I don't know the opinions and beliefs of the people in Sierra Leone. For all I know, the way the burial teams are handling the dead could be against the people's beliefs or religion. Also, outbreaks like this are pretty serious, so I would think that by now people would know how to deal with them. With every outbreak I know of from history, it usually ends with a lot of lives lost. Hopefully Sierra Leone will have better luck with their outbreak of Ebola and there will be more order with how the actions are carried out.

Indonesia police: U.S. couple confesses to death of woman found in suitcase M'Lynn Musgrove

http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/19/world/asia/indonesia-american-woman-killed-suitcase/index.html?hpt=wo_c2

A mystery had begun when a woman was found dead in a suitcase outside a hotel in Indonesia, but recently, a man from Chicago confesses. The man's girlfriend was also involved in the killing of his mother. His motive was apparently that the mother did not approve of the two's relationship, so naturally, they killed her.

I think this story is 100 percent crazy. I think its strange that both members of the couple were for the killing and that it was actually the son that killed the mom. There must have been some unpublished information on the relationships between all three of the people involved in the story.

iPhone vs. Android? Lets take a look at the charts!

Apple has yet again broken new sales records with the two new iPhone models, even though the weren't in sale at that time! Apple's customers command a kind of upgrade loyalty that other brands can only envy. Apple smartphone users seem to be much more likely to buy another iPhone (refer to chart 2) But this kind of consumer faithfulness makes us think, just how faithful are Apple users? Do other companies come close? And where are all these smartphone customers, anyway?

Lets take a look at the charts!

First, an overview of smartphone customers in the U.S.:

Brand retention:

Analysis:
It is really impressive how much Apple users love their smartphones, I mean, sales for the newly released iPhone 6 are skyrocketing! And most people have pre-ordered the phone with no qualms or doubts, knowing that they would like it even if they had not seen it before. It really is something to be envied of, by other brands that is! I myself will be desperately waiting for the moment I can get my hands on the newest iPhone for sure.

Vlogger Held At Gunpoint, Gets It All On Camera by Jackson Scoggins

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/17/robbery-gopro-gunpoint-video_n_5835318.html

Alex Hennessy is a Canadian man who has been traveling the world and posting it all on the internet in a series he calls "Global Degree". He was in Buenos Aries going for a bike ride through the streets when a man on a motorcycle pulls out a gun and asks him a question in a language Hennessy didn't speak. The man was demanding the backpack and his gear which was $4,000 worth of material. He wrote on Reddit "I was playing stupid gringo for sure... I knew he wanted the backpack but I figured I could talk around it. Then when he chased me down I realized that I had to give it him but it took too long and there was a lot of attention being brought to the situation" The video was given to police and the man was arrested.

This is an amazing story. The fact that such a real scary moment was captured for the world to see is so cool. If this story happened 10-20 years ago no one would have known about it. Of course it's also awesome that the guy didn't get shot or anything. I wish that recording material like this was cheaper so that everyone could get events like this on camera.  I posted the video below for those who want to watch...

Boy kills 1 month old baby By Ayanna Evans

Police have arrested a man 20 years of age named Ricky Lee Clark jr, for the murder of his 1 month old baby, Camden Williams. The murder was said to be done earlier this year on February 17, 2014. On August 18, 2014, an autopsy report was released to confirm that baby Caden's death was without a doubt a homicide. This report stated that baby Caden's suffered from extensive injuries such as a brain hemorrhage, fractured skull, spinal cord injuries, 4 fractured ribs, and several lung injuries. Clark is being held in Lenoir county jail under no bond. His 1st apperceive in court will be this tuesday.

I really don't understand why someone would kill their own child. This just goes to show that some people are just unfit parents. If I could ask Ricky what drove him insane enough to do this to his own child I would. I don't understand how someone could just listen to a baby scream and cry and still manage to keep hurting them.

Fight against Ebola badly underfunded by Vern Blossfeld

Summary: The Ebola virus has killed thousands in West Africa, leaving grieving family members of victims and even wiping entire families out. As medical workers try to stop the spreading of the virus, experts are trying to determine the economic impact of all this in West Africa. Over 2,600 people have died according to a recent count. If the Ebola virus isn't stopped this year, the cost could increase by eight times its current estimate. The UN said this week that $1 billion in aid is needed to contain the Ebola virus, but a tally of the donations shows that many wealthy Western nations have donated hardly anything compared to what they'd pledged to donate. Total donations are at $388 million, and although the Obama administration has announced that it hopes to send another $500 million, it still doesn't meet the needed $1 billion.
Analysis: It's shameful that some wealthy Western nations have donated very little to this cause to fight a disease that's killing thousands. I hope that others continue to donate in their place, and that the UN can get the $1 million needed to contain and fight Ebola. If it were to spread further into the Western nations who hadn't donated, maybe then they'd be more ready to donate.

EBOLA DISCHARGE! By. Ayanna Evans

A few weeks ago a doctor named Kent Brantley was in Liberia to help treat patients suffering with Ebola. Kent says that he was very close to one of the doctors from liberia, who was also helping patients.  Ebola is a disease that is marked by severe fever and internal bleeding. This virus spreads throughout the body and eventually ends in death if treatment doesn't work. As an update follows Kent was discharged from the hospital and is currently home with his loving wife. Kent says that he is lucky to be alive and well.

I admire Dr.Kent for risking his life to help others. We need more people like him in the world. I really don't know what extra procedures the doctors could have taken to be more careful, but it's a relief to see that he has made an amazing recovery and may continue doing what he loves.  Helping others !😃

Worlds first 3d car unveiled in Chicago by jack rogers

www.cnn.com

There was an unveiling of a 3d printed car in Chicago sep. 15 2014 and it took about 44 hours to make the car because the printer was making it out of carbon fiber material and the whole car itslef is composed of 40 different parts other than a normal car that has 20000 parts. The cars name is the strati I don't know why they named it that but it costs between 11000-18000 to buy it. It has a top speed of 40mph and it is a really good lookin car.

I think that I would love to have a car like it it is a small car but it looks nice and it doesn't have that many parts so if it would lose a part it would be easy to get it back since there's only 40 parts in the car and say I order! Hey it takes 44 to print it so I'll have it in no time. I think they'll start improving the cars and soon they'll be printing off sports cars like the cars we see today.

Natalia Hernandez- Cars are now able to be 3D printed? You can make a car with a maching, in the comfort of your house!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2756181/History-making-The-futuristic-3D-printed-car-just-40-parts-costs-11-000-takes-44-hours-build.html

Futuristic, innovative, and made up of 40 parts as opposed to the standard 20,000 components, the Strati is the first ever 3D printed car. But what does that mean? It means that nearly all of the car (that is the chassis and the body of the car) is made using a giant 3D printer, which can create almost anything of three-dimensional form. However the tires, seats, wheels, battery, wiring, suspension, electric motor and window shield were made using conventional methods. Is this not a stride towards future technology? Taking a step towards a world in which people can build a car in the comfort of their house with a machine. While this specific incredible car may not be for sale, Local Motors CEO John Rogers has communicated the desire to offer 3D-printed cars for between £11,000 to £18,000 ($18,000 to $30,000) each, after being the first company to make the car using carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic.

Analysis:
Imagine being able to build anything from a small piece of plastic to a car! Such futuristic concepts have already been introduced to us, all that is left is to make that artifact available to the public by making it more affordable. Already have I seen a 3D printer through a friend last year! He brought a detailed plastic hand sculpture which he designed, but had made by his own 3D printer. This new creating makes me wonder if it can cause a change in the way that we obtain manufactured goods, and, hopefully, change our lives positively!

British man, woman found dead on Thai beach by Samantha Arthur

A man and a women were found dead on a beach in Thailand. As fishy as this sounds, investigators are saying that they think it was murder. The victims are friends tell the investigators that the two met on the island. Investigators found a shovel with blood near the bodies. They say that no one stole anything from the victims, but they certainly killed them.

I think this is such a suspicious and weird turn of event. It really can creep a person out. I definely think it was murder, especially if there was a shovel with blood on it (near the bodies!!). It goes to show that you should always be careful when you're out of your home country, you may get murdered...

British man and woman found dead in Thailand by Jesse Dale

a British man and woman were found dead at a resort in Thailand today. The police suspect their deaths were caused by murder because severe injuries to the head and a bloody hoe was found nearby. interviews with friends of the victims say the most likely just recently met before going to the resort.

I have no idea how somebody would want to do that to another human. Taking a life is a very serious thing and you'd have to live with that for the rest of your life. But maybe there was more back-story to this; maybe the British people were attacking the murderer and they killed them in self-defense. Or maybe they were actually just a crazed killer and killed them for fun. The investigation only started today, so you never know what could be the true story.

"China: Govt. officials destroy 360 crosses in 60 days" by Tashina Amiro

http://blog.godreports.com/2014/07/china-govt-officials-destroy-360-crosses-in-60-days/

China, being the communist society that it is, has recently deemed religion among the four greatest threats to national ideological security. Due to this, the government is only allowing Buddhism to be practiced, so they can control values such as Confucianism. To enact their new goals, China seems to be taking a violent approach. Such examples would be crosses being forcibly removed. Overall, the Chinese people have found themselves in a difficult and saddening situation.

Having studied China recently in class, we are aware of the influence the Chinese government can have on its people. Mixing church&state and therefore preventing their people from practicing any religion they choose is against Natural Law. The people should be able to decide if they want to be Christian or not, without government influence.

City in China Tests Cell Phone Sidewalk Lane By: Gabriel Ramos

http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/15/world/asia/china-cellphone-sidewalk/index.html?hpt=wo_c2

The city of Chongqing southwestern China has a "walking lane" for texters and phone users that are on the go. Long Cheng, the spokesperson of the developer of the lane said the cellphone lanes reminded the tourists to not walk and be on their cellphones. The street called yangrenjie, a very popular street among tourist is where this lane is at.

I think it is the best place to put the cell phone lane because there is a lot of cell phone use among the tourists. I think these lanes will not benefit in the long run, but even withe the lanes people could still bump into each other  which is the problem that is trying to be solved.

93-Year Old former Nazi charged for murder by Saul Flores

     http://news.msn.com/world/germany-charges-93-year-old-over-auschwitz-murders

A 93-year old former Nazi has recently been charged for thousands of murders during the Holocaust. This man helped in a gas chamber located in Auschwitz, which killed over 300,000 Jews immediately upon their arrival. The German court is still in the process of deciding whether or not the accused will go on trial. For more than 60 years German courts had only prosecuted Nazi war criminals if evidence showed they had personally committed atrocities, but Germany has already caught and imprisoned many former Nazis.

I believe this man should be taken to a maximum security prison in Germany, regardless of his age. Even he does go to prison, it will never be able to make up for the thousands of lives that he took away. Of course he wasn't a huge leader like Adolf Hitler, but he was one of the many soldiers that kept the Holocaust. Although it will not bring back the hundreds of thousands of people he killed, this man sure does deserve the rest of his life in prison.

Hurricane Odile by Trent Hagar

Original CNN Article

On Monday, a class 3 storm hit Mexico's Pacific coast. Winds reached up to 125 mph. Countless properties were destroyed, and it is hard to tell one place from another due to the mass of debris that has piled up from the wreckages of ships and buildings. Surprisingly enough, a few docks and bridges appear to have been spared. Hurricane season in the Pacific lasts from May 15th to September 30th, so the storm should have been a possibility to consider. On top of that, warnings were issued on sunday for potential flash floods and mud slides. In my opinion, People who were located in the path of the storm should have been more prepared due to the warnings and the acknowledgement of the time of year.

Texting lanes in China by Mark Murillo

http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/15/world/asia/china-cellphone-sidewalk/index.html?c=world

In China, people on the sidewalks are always running and bumping into each other, however China thinks they have a solution to this problem. They have decided to dived the sidewalk into two sections. One for people on there phones and one for regular walkers. However, some people don't completely agree, instead they think it will cause more problems.

I think that this is a good idea, however I think that most people aren't gonna follow the rules. For example, the 'phone' lane might get too crowded causing people to go into the 'walking' lane.

The two countries are working towards establishing peace after the incident of the Russian soldiers invading and assisting pro Russian rebels in Ukraine.Pro Russian rebels have released numerous captive Ukrainian troops as a result of the ceasefire deal. Violence has still erupted even though the countries established a ceasefire deal as a result six civilians were killed and 15 were injured.Ukrainian president Poroshenko is concerned that Russia is violating the deal after violence occurred earlier this month.

I believe the situation that is occurring between the two countries is very serious. I believe Ukraine is being naïve about the situation and believing Russia is seeking to establish peace. Russia invaded Ukraine earlier this month for a reason to gain economical and political power. Also if Russia has already violated the deal they can do it again. Serious precautions must be taken to ensure Russia will not break the deal again or Ukraine should end the deal because obviously Russia is deceitful and cannot be trusted.

Nnyanzi's passion for art by Vern Blossfeld

Summary: Nuwa Wamala-Nnyanzi is one of Uganda's most significant painters today. His emotive and calming images that explore emotions of love, longing and celebration have been called "'Art that touches the heart'". When he returned to Uganda after 12 years of exile in Kenya, he recalls that there was no real passion for art. In those days, it was really in the back of everyone's minds. Uganda was a country where artists were mostly stuck in their studios, and where the only available national art gallery was falling apart; where visual art had no following in the general public. But Nnyanzi believed this was the place to further his career. A quote from Nnyanzi, "It was my strong conviction that we could work together to raise the profile of visual art and that people needed to be interested in it".
Analysis: It's very admirable that Nnyanzi is working hard not just to further his own career, but to spread the passion for visual art in Uganda. Art is an easy way to express yourself and to find yourself, to spread messages even, of emotions or major issues going on worldwide. Hopefully Nnyanzi will continue his work, and his efforts will pay off among young potential artists, and even older, less passionate artists in Uganda.

Hurricane Odile slams Mexican resorts M'Lynn Musgrove

http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/15/world/americas/hurricane-odile/index.html?hpt=wo_t2

Hurricane Odile, starting out as a category 3 storm has slammed resorts in Mexico. At least 15,000 tourists were evacuated from Cabo, Mexico. Although the storm has subsided to a category 3 storm, that hasn't stopped it from tearing up docks, trees, and beaches of Mexico. Some people who didn't leave in time were trapped in bathrooms for the majority of the day.

I think this is extremely sad. Mexico is a beautiful place with beautiful beaches. Although it is devastating, I think most of the damage was done to tourist locations, not peoples homes. This could potentially cause  decrease in the economy with rebuilding and a lowering in income from hotels and tourists.

Liberian President Pleads for Assistance in Ebola Outbreak by Bella Dekhtyar

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/13/world/africa/liberian-president-pleads-with-obama-for-assistance-in-combating-ebola.html

Johnson Sirleaf, president of Liberia, has recently asked, more like pleading, Obama for assistance in the ever-increasing ebola outbreak. For those who don't know, Ebola is an incredibly infectious disease with fatal symptoms including fever and internal bleeding; some of these cases have been discovered in the United Sates. The virus has been spreading like wild fire across west Africa. So far over 2,000 people have died from this epidemic, and over 1,000 are from Liberia. In fact, there has been a 68% increase in ebola cases in Liberia just over the past 3 weeks. It has been categorized as a national security priority. The United States has been called to help contain the spread of Ebola in Africa. The Defense Department has been actively working to provide capabilities that can help stop this terrible epidemic.

It wasn't until this article that I realized that this outbreak is far more serious and dangerous than I could've imagined. And, although it's subtle, the editor of this article had truly tried to communicate the desperation of Liberia and following countries in Africa just by using the word "Pleading"in the title. I think this helps make a point to those, like me, that this is an ever-increasing struggle that is in dire need to be dealt with. Surely, it's definitely far worse than what we could've imagined. In the article, recent accounts from  doctors in  Monrovia have said, “'Two months since I have been less than two feet of another human without P.P.E,' or personal protective equipment." It is only in our hopes that the United States could fight this.

93 YO ex Nazi charged for over 300K murdersEmily Henderson

Recently a 93-year old retired Nazi from Auschwitz-Birkenau was put on trial for the murder of over 300,000 Jews at his assigned camp. He was simply supposed to check in Jews, but he was linked to the killing. The article states that "Prosecutors said the accused was aware the predominantly Jewish prisoners deemed unfit to work "were murdered directly after their arrival in the gas chambers of Auschwitz"." For 60 years, ex-Nazis couldn't be tried unless they had been directly linked to the murder, but in 2011 Munich imprisoned an exNazi guard for 5 years.
This article does not specify an author, but although the author does not seem to be bias of the subject, it seems most of the world wants this 93 year old man in prison. This article was published on Tue 16 Sep 2014, 8:59am by an Austrian press, which could make them biased towards the subject. Seeing that we had to learn about WW2 in grade 4, 7 and 8, I have a pretty good grasp on the subject. I also took a German classes so I have a good knowledge if Germanys history. Although I realize how tragic the holocaust was, I don't think it's logical to imprison somebody 60 years after they committed a crime they might have not wanted to, when they are about to die anyway. Also many guards where actually not Nazi advocates, some even Jews, forced to kill others or they, and their family would die. They were simply killing others to save themselves, which I believe many people would do even today. This article was most likely written for European advocates for the imprisonment of these ExNazi soldiers and to keep them in touch with the current situation. This article is important because it brings up a human right question- Is it ok to imprison somebody 60 years after they commit a crime, when they're on the verge of death anyway?

Golfer wins space trip after bagging hole-in-one -Celeste Rodela

"After a hole-in-one at the KLM Open in Amsterdam, golfer Andy Sullivan has won a prize that is truly out of this world.
The Englishman, who found the cup with his tee shot on the 15th hole, bagged himself a flight into space courtesy of a Dutch aerospace company.
XCOR Aerospace pledged a 62-minute space flight to any player who could card a hole-in-one at the 15th at the Kennemer Golf and Country Club.
The trip is valued at between $95,000 and $115,000.
"My caddie just shouted to me, 'we're going to space'. I was in hysterics. It's just an unreal experience. I didn't play great through the round and then I hit a shot like that," Sullivan told the European Tour's official website.
Before boldly going where no professional golfer has gone before, Sullivan needs to run the idea by his wife.
"I'm not sure if I'll go, I'll check with the missus," said Sullivan. "I'm not great with heights or flying! I might have to pluck up some coverage. I don't think spaceman is a new nickname for me.
"My daughter will think I'm the best dad in the world -- a professional golfer and an astronaut, she's got the best dad in the world! I'm going to have to pluck up some serious courage, but it is a once in a lifetime experience, so I'm going to have to do it."
This man has a huge opportunity in front of him and i feel her should take it no matter what his fears are. he won it so he deserves it. this is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

David Haines's executioner has been identified, according to British Officials at least, and David Cameron has sworn to catch this man. 500 British citizens have gone to Syria to battle along with 100 Americans. Being as it is, this is a tragic story. From my P.O.V, I think we can change all this but it doesn't seem to be heading that way. Hopefully this all clears up and everyone will be safe.

Oscar Pistorius's trail for killing his wife!

Oscar is a famous sprint funner in South Africa who, killed his own wife! What kind of sense does any of this make!? Well, I can help explain that. On the date of  Valentines Day in 2013, this man killed his wife and is now standing on trail as guilty. That's about it.

I believe to see this as a world problem 1) because it does take place in another country and 2) this is a famous character in social life and days who just so happened to kill his wife.

Top Somali anti-terrorism officer shot dead by Tony R

On Saturday, Al-Shabaab militants shot and killed the deputy chief of Somalia's anti-terrorism unit in a drive-by shooting in Mogadishu. It was reported that militants blocked Qanuni's vehicle and sprayed it with bullets before fleeing the scene. Abu Musab said that the killing was one of many in revenge for Godane's murder.

I think that the war between these two groups should end soon before more blood it's shed. All war does is kill and they should stop soon.

Another Ebola Patient Arrives In The United States By Trent Hagar

Original CNN Article

Mother nature seems to be playing a game of "Plague" in West Africa. It has been called the worst outbreak of Ebola in human history, and it shows no signs of slowing down. This week, another Ebola patient is being flown in from West Africa to seek treatment at an Atlanta hospital. Last week, an American doctor was flown in and treated, and last month two more. The two who were treated had been given experimental medicines, which seemed to help, as they were recently released from the hospital. While it is risky, I believe that it is right to quarantine the patients in America so that we may work on a way to fight the disease.

"Twitter turns itself into a store with new buy button" by Tashina Amiro

http://www.techhive.com/article/2603787/twitter-turns-itself-into-a-store-with-new-buy-button.html

Social media is an important factor in the 21st century; when a popular app/cite changes things up, it always seems to be important news. People are natural critics, so it is always interesting to see how they respond to these updates and changes.

With Twitter's new change, people will be able to use the app/cite as a mall besides all of its other features. For now, Twitter is only testing this change on certain people. Starting with a small group should give Twitter the ability to see how users respond, without losing everything the company had worked hard to establish. It will be interesting to see if  Twitter ends up proceeding with their mall move.

Egypt arrest men for video of possible gay wedding by Jesse Dale

http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/08/world/egypt-morality-charges-gay-wedding/index.html?hpt=wo_c2

A video that went viral last week showing a possible gay wedding on the Nile River has led nine men to prosecution under the criminal charges of "debauchery" and "undermining public morals". Also, a forensic doctor was ordered to give a physical examinations to the men, which is a common practice on homosexuals in Egypt. A similar case happened in April, where four men were sentenced to prison.

I don't understand how there can be so much hate for homosexuals when there exactly like everyone else and did nothing to deserve the hate. Egypt is hating on their own citizens as well, which I also don't understand; they're part of your country, you should love all your citizens. I realize all the hate comes from religion, but I, again, don't understand how they can believe what they believe about homosexuals (immoral, unnatural) when scientific research says otherwise. if a country is going to base a government on religion, especially Islam, which is a forever-unchanging religion, there is no possible way for them to be able to grow and become a stronger community.

Second Journalist beheaded by ISIS by Mark Murillo

Steven sotloff a american journalist who works for Time Magazine was abducted in Syria in 2013. Two weeks After James folley's beheading, sotloff was beheaded after the U.S sent an airstrike towards the terrorist group. Even though his mother begged for her son not to be killed, they still executed him

I think that its wrong what the ISIS is doing to these journalist. They are innocent people doing there job. They weren't the ones sending airstrikes. Journalist are now in danger of becoming captured and unfortunately even murdered.

Hurricane Norbert Hits Mexico by Saul Flores

http://news.msn.com/world/hurricane-drenches-mexico-prompting-evacuations

Recently, Hurricane Norbert has struck Mexico and plans to roam northward to Mexico's Baja California peninsula. The hurricane's fierce winds and strong high surf have forced people to look for higher ground, and has already wiped out over 1,000 homes, and over 2,500 people affected have been evacuated to a safe shelter. Hurricane Norbert has created winds that have reached up to 105 mph (165 kph) and has wiped out many homes, fishing villages, resorts, and pound beaches. Although the storm has began to decline over the past few days, the damage has already been done. Flooding is still active in some parts of Baja California, Mexico. The only good news is that the storm is beginning to ease down a bit, and that the storm has degraded into a light storm that will only last till Sunday.

I personally feel very sorry for the people that have been affected by Hurricane Norbert, especially because I come from a Mexican background. I actually experienced a hurricane in Mexico during the summer of 2010, and I know what its like to lose your home and sadly, your loved ones. It was definitely not a pleasing experience; I would not wish that for anyone, not even my worst enemy. Houses can be replaced, but memories cannot be erased, nor can they be repaired to what we would not mind remembering. My prayers go out to all the people who have experienced unfortunate tragedies in Baja California, Mexico.

Artist on death row by Vern Blossfeld

Summary: Drug-smuggler Myuran Sukumaran has opened an exhibition of oil portraits from Kerobokan jail in Australia. He began learning how to paint during his time in jail from Archibald Prize-winning artist Ben Quilty, who comments that he was a polite, calm, humble young man when he met him. Each piece in Sukumaran's collection has a price tag of $500, which will be put into buying art materials and creating a prison art gallery. Sukumaran has made it clear, along with his friend Andrew Chan, also on death row, that the goal of his mastering of art is not to be an artist overall, but of rehabilitation.
Analysis: Sukumaran's mentor, Ben Quilty, talks about how he first came to him as an amateur, but gained skill in painting over time. This story just goes to show that no matter what the situation, as long as you practice at your goal, you can achieve it; and anyone can be a visual artist, even if you're not necessarily great at drawing. Sukumaran's paintings are very professional to me, and very interesting. His works are captivating in that they show a lot of variety in color and emotion.

Meteorite makes big crater in Nicaragua by jack Rogers

www.cnn.com

A meteorite crashed down in Managua, Nicaragua, late Saturday night, it made a loud crash at 11:05 pm on a Saturday night. Scientist say it may have come off a asteroid that was supposed to safely pass by on Sunday. The asteroid is 60 feet long and they say it was no threat to earth because it was 25000 miles away from the planet but they think debris may have came off the asteroid and struck Nicaragua.

To me that could have been a major threat to the country because that could've struck in a town and it could've killed many people and also there could've been more debris from the asteroid that could've came to earth.

Ancient Grecian Tomb By Emily Henderson

Ancient Grecian Tomb
Emily Henderson
Period 8

There recently was a tomb uncovered in Serres, Greece. This tomb is one of the largest tombs in the region and many archeologists belive that this tomb had a connection to someone who was very important because of its collasal size and incredible statues. There are massive statues and arches leading up to the tomb. Seeing as the tomb was built around 300 BC, many people think that the tomb may have had some sort of connection to Alexander the Great. There are also several statues that respmbles those of Egyptian culture, which was one of the many countries Alexander passed through.
The article is from a british site called, The Telegraph and was published 6:24PM BST 14 Aug 2014, only 2 days after the tomb was found, giving it less information than many other articles that publish constantly. Prior to reading this article, much of my knowledge of the history of Greece came before Alexander the Great, and was of fictional literature. I had heard of Alexander the Great, but didn’t have a vast knowledge of him, therefore I wasn’t able to factor in that history along with information I recived from the article to conclude whom the tomb might have belonged to.  This article was most likely written for English audiences, seeing as it was written in English, dubbed in English, and made in England. This article was written to inform audiences on the events occurring relevant to the tomb. This article is important because it could be a huge archelogolical find that could change Grecian history.

The attack was made by the Al-Shabaab terrorist group and it claimed the lives of Americans and South Africans. I feel that the americans and the south africans should do more to prevent these attacks from happening because they could lead to more innocent people dying. Many other countries should do more to try to prevent these horrific attacks from happening.

French President Ex-girlfriend Reveals Intimate Details In a New Book - Mariela L.

Valerie Trierweiler, ex-partner of  French President Francois Hollande, writes about their relationship in a new book. The first lady describes her 7 year romance as an " illegitimate" and " dehumanized" after Hollande took over presidency. It fell apart after pictures suggesting an affair between Hollande and actress Juliet Gayet.
The French president tried to win her back several times after the split. She describes him as a man who's constantly afraid to lose. Trierweiler and Hollande were never married.
The French newspaper Le Parisien reports that Hollande was not aware of the book and was " dismayed" to hear news of its publication.

This tragic relationship shows how fame and power can affect the lives of many.  After revealing all through the book, the president didn't even care about it being published. Although all ended in bad terms, the first lady will most likely  make a fortune with the book because people like to hear gossip. They will pay anything to hear the darkest, deepest secrets.     www.cnn/world.com

Plane Crash off Jamaica: What Happened? By Bella Dekhtyar

http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/06/opinion/abend-jamaica-crash/

Yesterday, September 7, a New York couple's plane crashed off the coast of Jamaica and is currently unrecovered. There has been many theories as to how the plane crashed, but so far the most excepted is the possibility of a gradual loss in cabin pressure. The captain, requesting for a lower descent from about a level 250 to 180, was urgent on the matter, yet was relatively calm about it. Air traffic control was having difficulties fulfilling that request for unknown reasons, stating "I'm working on it..." Soon, radio contact was ceased and the captain was unreachable. Many believe his calmness about such a drastic situation may have been due to the high altitude of the plane and its effects, hypoxia; a gradual condition where there is a lack of oxygen and decision making is unclear. The pilot would have eventually lost consciousness over several hours and may not have been aware of the increase in altitude and extreme loss of cabin pressure later on. Originally, the flight's destination was Florida, but crashed after several hours off the coast of Jamaica.

This, to me, was definitely a nerve-racking story. I think the most important factor in this situation is how the loss of pressure came even to begin with? And why was air traffic control having difficulties with altitude? It seems that they should find the problem and fix it, or at least stress on this certain situation during training for future issues. Thankfully, the plane did not crash in a populated area, which would only cause further damage.

Pakistan:110 people killed from floods
by Adrianna Martinez

In Pakistan 110 people have been killed and 150 have been injured from the flash floods.650 homes have been destroyed from flooding caused by monsoon rains. Two important cities, Lahore and Rawalpindindi located in Punjab have been hit with major urban floodings. The prime minister Sharif will attend a meeting to assess the damage and deaths caused by the floods. The eastern part of Pakistan has received up to a foot of rain causing huge flooding.

The flooding that is occurring in Pakistan is very serious,it has caused many deaths and destroyed numerous infrastructures. Many of the deaths were caused by collapsing roofs and electrocution by fallen power lines. Since Pakistan experiences monsoons yearly I believe the government should consider improving their buildings or modify their designs while constructing them to help prevent other deaths from occurring during the monsoon seasons. I believe they should place homes and other buildings on stilts or somewhere higher off the ground to prevent damages from occurring and to save peoples lives when floodings do occur. Also they should reconstruct their roofs and use a stronger material so when heavy rains occur they will not collapse and injure or kill people inside the buildings.

Ukraine and Russia by William Perry Esping II

http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/08/world/europe/ukraine-crisis/index.html?hpt=wo_c2

A group of Ukrainian citizens who want Ukraine to be a part of Russia have rebelled and started fighting the Ukrainian government. Right now they are under ceasefire and both sides are already accusing the other of violating it. Prisoners are being exchanged and Russia is accused of giving troops and weapons to the rebels. The EU is putting economical sanctions on Russia. Russian ministry of foreign affairs said that "Russia would not fail to retaliate if such measures are adopted."

I think Russia is definitely supplying the rebels with weapons. The real question is if Putin and the Russian government approved this or are Russian soldiers doing this themselves. Now I think this may be the spark of WW III. If Obama keeps cutting our military budget we could be defeated because the next World War is going to be the bloodiest.

Case Cockrell- Current Events- 9/7/14

http://www.foxnews.com/science/2014/09/08/dna-testing-reportedly-reveals-identity-jack-ripper/?intcmp=features

A series of DNA testing has supposedly reported the identity of infamous serial killer, Jack The Ripper. A report names the killer as a man named Aaron Kosminski. This man was a Polish immigrant who, assuming it  really was him that was committing the murders, would have been 23 at the time of the murders. Although, this theory has been challenged already, and many scientists have said any actual identification regarding this subject may be impossible.

This subject has always interested me. I don't think this finding is all the way accurate. It is possible that Jack The Ripper could have had henchman of some sort. Its possible that he did not work alone on these murders. The DNA was not an 100% match, so the search for the killer's identity could never end.

Natalia Hernandez- People in India and Pakistan are in dreadful danger from furious Monsoon floods, already 300 have died.

http://news.yahoo.com/flood-waters-submerge-swathes-kashmir-120-dead-060949493.html

In northern India and Pakistan, the Monsoon rains have already claimed nearly 300 people,  submerged homes, smothered villages, and triggered massive rescue efforts in Sinagar. These floods also caused landslides that have accumulated the majority of deaths. 5 days of incessant rain have left 450 villages deep in water and affected 2000 others. Schools, and businesses have been shut down, crops have been ruined, and resources are limited. This can almost be considered a national crisis.

It is amazing how the Monsoons that India depends on so much can be volatile to the extent that one moment people will rejoice for the opportunity the rains bring in terms of farming and crops, while they can also despair at the destruction that these ferocious, merciless storms unleash.

Ashya King 'to leave hospital for proton treatment' by M'Lynn Musgrove

This article is about 5 year old Ashya and his struggle with cancer. After being moved around to many hospitals all around the world, his parents were arrested for refusal to move him again. A warrant went out for their arrest which sparked international outcry.

I think it should be the parents decision on what to do with their child. I also think that even if the parents were being arrested for a minor crime, they should let it slide because of the cancer that the young boy was suffering from. Cancer takes a toll on the boy and the entire family. They have been going through such a rough time and thats why I think it is wrong.

CNN Exclusive: A 13-year-old witness to ISIS' beheadings, crucifixion in Syria by Samantha Arthur

http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/28/world/meast/syria-isis-atrocities-boy/index.html?iid=article_sidebar

CNN interviewed a boy named Mohammed (that's not really his name, it's his fake name [he changed it out of fear for his safety]). Mohammed was forced to go to ISIS camp. All of his friends were going so he wanted to go, but his father knew this was a bad idea. When ISIS found out that Mohammed's father was preventing his attendance to the camp, they threatened to behead the father. Out of fear, Mohammed's father sent him to the camp. Mohammed said that at the camp, the boys learned about their religion's profits, prayer, and how to use weaponry. They were taught to kill "infidels". Mohammed didn't even know what an "infidel" was, let alone why he should kill them. He said that at the camp they were forced to watch gory things, like a women being stoned to death or men being beheaded or crucified. Mohammed's father managed to get his son out of the camp and they fled to Turkey.

I think that the ISIS is probably one of the scariest things out there right now. To think that they are in Mexico is terrifying. Pulling our troops out of Iraq was definitely not a good decision (considering that now they have our weapons [the weapons we left for the government] and are stronger). These ISIS camps are really sad. These boys are being brainwashed into doing things that would normally seem bizarre to someone in their right mind.

App Forces Kids To Return Parents’ Calls by jack rogers

http://www.studentnewsdaily.com/daily-news-article/app-forces-kids-to-return-parents-calls/

Kids might regret not calling there parents back after they set up the Ignore No More app. The ignore no more is an app for many different phones that parents just have to simply set it up then after they do they can just click on there kids name and lock there phone until they call them back because thats one of the two options to do when his/her phone is locked besides make emergency phone calls. And once the kid calls back the parent, the parent would give him/her the code to unlock there phone once again.

I think the app would be good to use for parents because any kid that wants to ignore his her parent should have there phone locked because what if there parent has something importat to say to them. Well at the same time if the parent is being mean to them and just wants to lock there phone that would not be good for the kid either because how would he get the code.

Did U.S. Attack Kill Al-Shabaab Leader by Tony R.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/02/world/africa/somalia-us-operation/index.html?c=world&page=0

The U.S. military invaded Somalia to kill Ahmed Abdi Godane, the leader of Al-Shabaab. A Pentagon spokesperson said, "We certainly believe that we hit what we were aiming at". Even though he said this, he didn't say whether Godane was dead. He did state that U.S. military aircraft did fly over Somalia and that they, "destroyed an encampment and a vehicle using several Hellfire missiles and laser-guided missiles". The U.S. has been searching for Godane for a while now. Al-Shabaab's most high-profile attack was last year, when terrorists walked into a shopping mall and pulled out weapons and killed many civilians.

I believe that the U.S. was successful in killing Godane even though they can't say whether or not they killed him. I think Somalia will be safer with the Al-Shabaab leader dead and hopefully Al-Shabaab will stop with their terrorists attacks.

Drugs more prominent in small towns...?- Td Simons 2nd pd

In the small town of Chelsea, Massachusetts there is a big and serious problem. Detective David Betz tells us that his day is about to get busy around 8pm, but whose day starts then? A heroin addict’s day. Betz will try and contact one of the dealers, hopefully able to buy the drugs from him off the street, and then make his arrest. He says that this town has such a profound drug problem because of how small it is. Because it is so small there is lower income and resources. As Betz says, “Why would you want to deliver pizza for $8 an hour when you can make $800?” The detective describes how these drugs end up in these towns by describing as an “artery-like” system. They first are imported from an international country, and then smuggled to New York, then Rhode Island or Connecticut, then Boston Massachusetts. After that it’s a short drive over the Bridge to Chelsea. However, most of these dealers and buyers in Chelsea are not from there, they are from other major cities/towns around the area. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, this isn’t a problem just in Chelsea, but all over the country and as Betz says, “the people themselves have to have the will and the desire to want to get past it themselves. If they don’t, there’s no public service programs or no magic pill to better the problem.” Sadly, for now “drugs are as American as apple pie.”
This article was written by Chris Boyette and Deb Feyerick, from CNN, this morning (Aug. 27). The authors point of view tends to be sided with the detective (as should be), but also gives us the perspective of a heroin addict which is included in a video attached to the article. This is helpful so we can see the reasoning behind the addict’s addiction to the drugs an d how easy it is to get involved in that scene. This article is directed to the general public, to show that anybody can get addicted, teens to adults, and how quickly it can consume your life and drag you to a small town, like Chelsea. This article is an eye-opener to me by showing the system of the drug community and how easy it is to access it and become addicted.

The Michael Brown Case by Ayanna

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/ushome/index.html

On August 19, 2014 a young African American man by the name of Michael Brown, was shot and killed. Young Michael was 18 and in his way to college,  not knowing that the tables were about to turn. The officer that murdred Michael is a 26 year old Caucasian male named Darren Wilson. At first it was known to be said that Michael and his friend we involved in a robbery right around the time the shooting happned, but it was announced that officer Wilson knew nothing about the robbery. So why did he shoot him you ask? Later during the investigation Michaels friend spoke up and decided to tell what happned. Doran Johnson (Michaels' s friend that was with him) said they they were simply walking in the middle of the street where there were no cars, having a conversation. Wilson drove up and used profanity to tell them to get out of the street. Dorian told Wilson that their destination was coming up and Wilson proceeded to drive away.  Wilson turned around as if he was about to hit the young men and opened his door, which rebounded off of them and hit Wilson back which made him angry. The first shot went off and Michael was hit. As Michael and Dorian started to run, Michael was hit again. After the 2nd shot Michael put his hands up to surrender but Wilson fired several more shots killing Michael. His friend who was hiding under a car ran home to his family and called the police. Also this Is not the 1st time people have had a horrible experience with Wilson.  One girl says that one month ago that Wilson used profanity against her and threatened to draw his weapon against her as well during and experience where she was moved and was trying to treat her eyes. She too was African American.

I don't want to say that this was a racial thing but if someone put their hands up to surrender why would you keep shooting? This is very similar to the Travon Martin case and he was African American as well. It saddens me that non of these human beings are here today to tell what happned and have yet to receive the justice they deserve. I don't think it's fair at all that Michaels family only knows so little information. His family deserves closer. Michaels deserves to rest in peace and receive justice!!!!
