This is a big year for Ms. Kitty since she is celebrating her 40th birthday even though she is a perpetual 3rd grader. Although she isn't shy about revealing her age, she has kept a secret from the world. SHE IS NOT A CAT!
This revelation that began as a rumor, but then confirmed by Hello Kitty expert Christine Yano that she indeed was a girl as a result in calling her a " feline", but then Sanrio companies corrected her. According to them she is a girl, an icon and a character. What is also surprising is that Ms. Kitty has a pet cat called Charming Kitty!
Honest1y, I had the suspicion that she was a girl because of a story I heard when I was about ten. It goes something like this: there was a young girl and a mother who were racing in and out of hospitals since the daughter had some type of mouth cancer. Unfortunately, no doctor gave her good news and told the mother that there was no hope. She prayed everyday to God in hope for a miracle. But things just got worse. She was growing severely desperate and couldn't do a thing and did the unexpected. The mother took the choice of praying to the devil, so her little girl who was rapidly dying could live. So the devil came and granted her the wish.
