High Calories? High Tax. by Gabriel David Giron Vives

Summery: Mexico is now, currently, the top in the world in obesity. Mexico wants to deal with that in a perfectly logical way. Putting a fat tax. Now there will be an 8% tax on all foods high in calorie content.

Analysis:

Much Fat! Very calorie! Wow! Bad Fats! Much Tax!

Obesity is a big problem. However. I do not think that putting a tax is gonna stop fat people from being fat. This is what happened a while ago to sodas and stuff in New York, and we all saw how that worked out. Well, even though nothing will come out of this, hopefully "someone" gets saved.

  1. That's to a bd idea. It causes fatty foods to be more expensive which may actually keep people from purchasing those foods.

  2. I don't think this tax can completely solve the problem--it probably won't even come close, but I think it could definitely help. It's a way of encouraging people to make healthier choices, although I wonder how it will effect the Mexican economy.

  3. I think it's kind of dumb. Its not good to be over weight, but trying to force people not to be fat is just going to make people angry.
