Uruguay Plans To Legalize Marijuana - By Hannah Menchu
Jose Mujica, the President of Uruguay, plans to legalize the sale and production of marijuana. It is already legal to possess or use marijuana in Uruguay. President Mujica plans to have the government control the marijuana farms and control the sale of it. This way the gangs will not make money from selling it and the government will.
The former presidents of Brazil, Mexico and Colombia support the plan. Guatemala also supports it and Bolivia is looking at ways to legalize coca leaves.

That is not right. Marijuana is terrible for you, and to let people sell it would be a stupid decision. The government should stop being selfish about earning money, and they should start thinking about how unhealthy this actually is. I hope they won't have to learn their lesson when everyone starts to get sick from buying and using marijuana.
ReplyDeleteThis might be a smart idea for the government, but it is actually terrible. There should be no way that marijuana is legalized anywhere. Its can ruin your body and your life. Drug addictions are serious. Maybe the government was thinking about stopping illegal sales and looking to make more money, but what I think that they should do is to stop the dealers overall and keep marijuana away from the people.
ReplyDeleteNo matter where you are, legalizing marijuana is just asking for an increase in drug activity which leads to even worse things. So many people smoke marijuana illegally I cna only imagine the turmoil it would cause when it becomes legalized.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness...What good is this going help for Uruguay?! Drugs DON'T have ANY positive effects on your body!
