In Peru two dead bodies were found in the Palcaraju Oeste Mountains.
This ended a long search for them. The two men, apparently, had wanted to
scalethe south face of palcaraju oeste. People have been talking about what
great climbers they were. The two men were Gil Weiss and Ben Horne. O July 10,
Horne posted a picture and a Chronicle of the experiences on the climbing blog
Pullharder.org. He talked about how high the altitude was but also how awesome
the mountains were. According to a blog post, Weiss and Horne were missing for
the past five to ten days. Searchers went out and found their tent and tracks
up the glacier. The bodies were found later and it seems to be that they had
fallen from a ridge on their decent. Both Weiss and Horne were experienced and
fit climbers. Both had been practicing for at least a decade. I think that although
it is sad that they died at least it was for something they loved.
