Banana Boat Burn By: Addison Norman

Banana Boat Burn
By: Addison Norman

Banana Boat sunscreen products are being recalled because of a possible danger in using the products. The sunscreen may break out into flames on the users’ skin if the person comes in contact with a spark or flame before the sunscreen is completely dry. Energizer Holdings (ENR) has received four notices in the U.S. where the spray has caused burns, and one report in Canada. Energizer believes that this happens because some Banana Boat sunscreen spray, dispenses more than what is standard. This causes the spray to take longer to dry.
I believe it’s important to read the warnings and hazards on a product before using them. Many products that we put on our bodies like sunscreen, hairspray, and perfume contain alcohol. Alcohol is very flammable so if one of these products came in contact with a flame or spark it could cause a fire. We all need to be aware of what we products use, and their possible dangers.

  2. It is actually a comic image, of someone applying sunscreen and then catching on fire. :) Why would you go near a flame with one of those products on anyway? I'm not stupid, I wouldn't do that. Bananna Boat shouldn't be blamed for the obtusity of society!

  3. That would just suck, you put on sunscreen not to get burned...and you end up catching on fire.
