"Hurricane Sandy Leaves 40 Dead Across Caribbean" By sydney Magnall

Hurricane Sandy is only a category one/two hurricane, but in Caribbean it left 40 dead. Many died trying to cross rivers. There was so much rain it caused lots of flooding. "If the rain continues, for sure we'll have more people die," said morgue deputy Joseph Franck Laporte. "The earth cannot hold the rain." This quote shows just how much rain there was. Another deadly part of the storm was mudslides. One mudslide killed 5 people! When Sandy went to Cuba it moved to a category two hurricane and killed 11 people. This hurricane cause a great amount of damage. 5,000 houses were collapsed, crops were lost, 30,000 houses were damaged. The repairs must cost millions of dollars. I can't imagine what a loss like this must be like. I feel badly for everyone who was affected and will be affected, my prayers go out to them.

  1. I heard that New York City will close the subways because they are afraid the subways will flood when the storm hits there.
