Saving monkeys helps forest?-Alyssa Hamilton

In Silva Jardim Brazil endangered golden lion tamarins are going through "one of the world's most inspired species restoration efforts" "There is no question in my mind that the golden lion tamarin is one of the best examples of international collaboration anywhere in the world," said Russell Mittermeier, president of an environmental group" Now because of the protection for the monkeys they are in the running for the mascot of the 2016 Olympics! The first push to save them happened in the early 1970's when researchers saw that their once massive numbers were dwindling. Now to make a better living environment for the monkeys so that they can reproduce easily and live in comfort is the main goal of the environmental groups in Brazil. By saving the monkeys it also saves the forest because they have to regrow the forest for the monkeys to live in, it's a win win situation. Hopefully their efforts will continue to work and these beautiful monkeys can make a bounce back from being endangered.

  2. I hope that better homes are made for the monkeys soon. I think that it is great that building the monkeys their own habitats will mean regrowing the forests because we need to take care of the environment. I really hope that these monkeys will no longer be going through extinction. I hate hearing about animals going through extinction because it is terrible that they may no longer exist because of us, humans. I hope that once the homes are built and the forests are regrown, everything will be okay again.
