Amanda Kipp- Mexican Gang Leader is Caught

This Sunday a man named Salvador Alfonso Martinez Escobedo; leader of the Zeta drug gang, was arrested by Navy officers in the border city of Nuevo Laredo. This man was responsible for several terrible crimes. First, in 2010 made his accomplices murder 72 people at San Fernando for not paying money or joining the gang. This was otherwise known as the San Fernando massacre. In April 2011, investigators found many more bodies at San Fernando, totaling up to more than 200 people killed. This man is also said to be responsible for killing David M. Hartley (an American citizen) in September of 2010 while on a lake straddling the U.S.A.- Mexico border. In addition, Martinez is connected to two major and recent jailbreaks in Mexico that helped several hundred of his gang members. I am so thankful this evil man was found. He killed and hurt so many people and finally he was caught and will recieve whatever punishment he deserves. His arrest reduced worry and activity in the Mexican drug war. Hopefully Mexican and American police officers will continue to search and find these gangs and their leaders.

  1. It is so sad how Mexico has been taken over with gangs and violence related to the drug war. It is always hopeful when one of the leaders are caught and arrested.
