Recently in Mexico, there was over 200 million turtle hatchling and they let them all go! How wonderful is that? But this didn't just happen all at one time, it has been occuring for the past six years. The government noticed that the numbers rose from 200,000 hatchlings in 1973 to over 1.5 million in 2012. Mexico ended up spending more that 11 million dollars to help these turtles out through corperations and eco-groups! Now they can all be a peace in the beach!

Dawww!!!!! Even a harsh government sees how cute baby turtles are :)
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of unexpected that a government would spend extra money to do something like that!
ReplyDeleteI love this story. In the world we have alot of trouble with animals and it is nice to see the government come out to help
ReplyDeletewow its so great to see this struggling country contributing to the lives of animals!
ReplyDeleteIt's great they help so many of them survive. Turtles are usually killed when they hatch so it's great that 2 million survived.
