Dutch Youth League Linesman Dies After Attack-Maddie Ash

After being beaten by three teenage football (soccer) players, Richard Nieuwenhuizen was taken to the hospital where he later died. Three teenagers, between the ages of 15 and 16, have been arrested. They were all from the Amsterdam club Nieuw Sloten. Nieuwenhuizen had been a linesman in a Sunday match at Buitenboys club. Buitenboys club chairman Marcel Oost said Mr. Nieuwenhuizen, 41, officiated as linesman for the team every week. "He enjoyed doing it. He was a real football man; he was always here," he told a national broadcaster.
