Pope Benedict XVI Tweets?! By Lucy Hinderliter

Pope Benedict has decided to make a Twitter account. His purposes are so that he can answer questions about faith to people all around the world while still living in Rome. Anyone around the world, could send in a question via the hashtag #askpontifex or #B16, and the Pope will answer some of them on Wednesdays.
"The Pope's presence on Twitter is a concrete expression of his conviction that the Church must be present in the digital arena,” the church said in a written statement to reporters. The pope’s account on Twitter, the statement said, “can be seen as the 'tip of the iceberg' that is the Church's presence in the world of new media.”
Many other religious leaders have started to be involved with Twitter, and have appreciated it's way of communication. The 140-character limit for tweets allow short, sweet, and to the point messages.

  1. The Pope is getting with the times! Spreading his faith through the Internet and Social Media! The whole world is connected at the click of a button, or the tap of a smartphone. Good for the Pope.
