Diana Nyad fake by Jackson Daughety

Diana Nyad recently beacame the first person to ever swim from Cuba to the USA without a shark cage. At age 6, this is pretty remarkable, some would even say: too remarkable. Her journey from Havana to Key west took 53 hours. It was a 110 mile journey. This was her fifth attempt at the massive swim. A lot of people were very proud, including Obama himself, tweeting his congradulations, but other long distance swimmers arent so joyus. These skeptics point out that there is a lack in data taken throughout the journey, and this is true. But does this warrant this kind of scale of accusation? Diana Nyad did something spectacular at a fairly old age, and there are no concrete reasons not to believe that she did it completely fairly. The fact that people are so skeptical is not too surprising, due to the strange lack of notes taken, but in this case the phrase "Innocent until proven guilty" never holds more accurate. The fact is that she did something incredible, and there is no reason to try to spoil her victory with rumors until there is some concrete proof http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1767035-diana-nyads-historic-swim-from-cuba-to-florida-draws-skepticism-from-swimmers

  1. I am just amazed by how brave this woman must be to do this multiple times, fail, and yet still strive to pull off this remarkable feet and eventually succeed.

  2. Even if a small piece of the data is missing, she still swam a majority of the way and maybe even the whole distance!
