On friday a 39 year old IT project manager had to abort a project which had included 370 helium-filled balloons. His goal was to make it all the way to france in his contraption but had to abort his mission when he ended up crash landing in Canada. He is still stranded in the Canadian forest as of right now but has plenty of survival gear and rescue is on the way. He is also live streaming it all on Facebook so he cant be too bad off.
This is actually fairly impressive. This isn't just another idiot with a lawn chair and some weather balloons, according to the article, Jonathan Trappe was working with a company that was trying to help him cross over to France. It's quite a shame really that he didn't manage it, it would have been very impressive. At this point all we can do is wait and hope that he is up for another go!
