Marlee Fleisher: Apple has to keep up

On Tuesday, too new iPhones are expected to be released, the iPhone 5S and a cheaper version. For one of the first times ever apple is being given a run for their money. Samsung's smart phones are becoming more and more popular, and innovative. many people believe that Apple will need to do something big to keep from falling behind, the need to cool out with a new and unique super product.
I believe that well a new product would be good and "cool" but do we really need one. It seems like a waste of money to buy a watch with a camera and other pointless things. i think people should settle with what we already have because what we already have it amazing on it own.

  1. I think that you make a good point, we do use our electronics alot and we really dont need a new device we just want one.

  2. Well, technology will never stop improving and some people don't want to just settle with what they have. As the new technology comes out, we loose our patience and that's why we usually end up getting the better device.

  3. I completely agree with you! I think that people should keep the device they already have until they break or wear out, at which point it's appropriate for them to get a new one.

  4. i think the point you make is very important that we do constantly discard old but working electronics just to say we have the latest model of something but in a lot cases the reason for purchasing a new device is to keep up in the latest abilities in our ever growing social community.

I agree with Hanna and Bette, we do need to slow down and take time to live in the present instead of trying to run off to the future.

  6. I think that the only way apple can keep up is to release this new stuff. In this age of technology the things that are coming out are almost unthinkable! I support living in the present but you always have to think about the future.

  7. This advancing of tecnology gives me both feelings of wonder, but also of fear. Because of these upgrade and new features, we are staring to rely on the techonolgy more and more. Take calculators for example: it makes sense to use them to find the square roots of numbers that aren't perfect squares, but not for multiplication, division, subtraction, or addition. I think what really needs an upgrade is our intellect.

  8. I feel like apple is losing its grip on the industry. Samsung and Nokia are coming out with exponentially better phones, while apple is coming out with a new phone every year, but with little difference at all between the new models and the old ones. It seems that everyone who wants an iPhone already has one and the new ones aren't different enough to raise any interest from the general public.
