Spying on Other Countries, By: Jon Cope

Summary:
President Obama is trying to make the mark of what's right and what's wrong. As stated in this article, the US has spied on other countries, and this could cause major issues with it's allies/enemies. Wall Street Journal says, "Mr. Obama is backing away from important surveillance programs because of political concerns." Apparently, Brazil and Latin America have been a recent area spied on, and because of such actions, the USA is not having as great of an ally with these countries as they had before the spying began. Now that technology is becoming more advanced, President Obama questions why not to use it; although, America only collects such data to stop terrorist attacks and for safety reasonings.

Analysis:
In my beliefs, spying should not be allowed. I think of it as stalking or invading another's private information. I believe that IF spying should be used it should be used for safety and to stop terrorist attack like stated, also, it should be used if a person commits a crime and leaves the country, while being searched for. Other than that, I believe that spying should be illegal, because it can also be a form of "hacking."

  1. I agree, I do not think that he should spy. But I do not understand why he would want to, other countries deserve privacy just like we do.

  2. The Untied States spying makes us look really paranoid. I understand why we would want to spy, but that creates a lot of distrust and even more secrecy. Which prevokes more spying and on and on. We should just stop now before we create some enemies

  3. I think that if the country says its okay for us to "spy" then it should be allowed but id on't think Obama or our government should be doing that. It's bad for everyone.
