Jewelry Thieves in France by Zoey Crummey

France has recently been a victim of high profile jewelry robberies. The latest occurred when four men smashed into a jewelry shop in Paris. They proceeded to obtain approximately 2 million euros worth of jewelry, set fire to the car they came in, and escape in a second car. In July an armed man made off with 103 million euros worth of rare diamonds in broad daylight, and in 2008 three men stole almost all of the merchandise in the Harry Winston jewelry store.

Hopefully this trend doesn't continue, as these high scale robberies are kind of alarming. It's good that no civilians have been harmed, though. I have to admit, the idea of a string of high profile robberies sounds like an exciting movie, but I doubt it would be that fun in real life.
