Many Missing in Solomon Islands, By: Jon Cope

Many Missing in Solomon Islands, By: Jon Cope

Summary:
After flooding in the Solomon Islands, over a dozen (12+) people have been found dead. On top of that, around 10,00 people are now homeless, and dozens of people have been missing since the flood. Thousands of these people have taken refuge in emergency shelter. Food resources and infrastructure have been damaged.

Analysis:
I feel that this situation is very sad. Thousands of people who can no longer live in their houses, find their loved ones, live without rationing food, must be horrible!!!

Tumors decreasing rare Rhino population by Josie

                                                                      Sumatran rhino
Summary: A Sumatran rhino in a US zoo has died this week from a tumor which spread to another rhino soon after. There are continuing efforts to increase the Sumatran rhino population but these tumors have become another problem. The Sumatran rhino population has been decreasing rapidly due to deforestation, humans encroaching on their habitat, and illegal poaching for their horns. Suci, a nine-year-old female, died on March 30 at the Cincinnati Zoo from an inheritable disease called hemochromatosis. Roth, the caretaker at the zoo of these rhinos, is devastated about it. The tumors were the size of footballs. Doctors are continuing research on how to rid rhinos of these health problems.
Analysis: The size of footballs! That's awful. I hope that the specialists can find a cure for the rhinos suffering from this. It'd suck if the deciding factor on whether or not they become extinct is something this painful.

Fatal skydiving by Becca Hodge

This morning Diana Paris, 46 of Berlin, germany, died while taking part in a world record skydiving jump. Her main parachute malfunctioned and caused her to crash. Her crash was not due to the amount of people in the air or any other skydiver.

My heart goes out to her family. I hope they are all doing okay.

How I Met Your Mother finale By Becca Hodge

The finale to the popular sitcom How I Met Your Mother aired in the US this past Monday night. After 9 years the show has been running it has finally come to an end. There has been some disagreement with how the show should of ended but theres nothing we can do. Apologies to all the fans, it really did let us down.

Okay rant time :)
~spoilers~
How should I start? ALL OF THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENTS JUST DISAPPEARED. Barney just went back to the player he was, Ted was just this stupid guy in love with Robin the entire time, Lily and Marshall are still great though. ROBIN AND BARNEY WERE MENT TO BE TOGETHER. I mean seriously???? they were PERFECT!
Just look at them!! WHY DID THEY HAVE TO GET DIVORCED! Also, WHY DID THE MOM DIE???? We just met her and they had to kill her off?? Waaa?? also, ITS CALLED HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER NOT HOW I MET YOUR STEP-MOTHER! why are the kids so ready for Robin to be their mom???? AND what is up with Robin's hair at the end?
over all it was a very upsetting finale to an amazing show. I hate to say this but, Lost ending was better. Anyways! I shall now leave you with some of my favorite gifs from the show

Boss defends Vettle for using bad language by Becca Hodge

In an interview this past weekend in Malaysia, Vettel uses a four letter word to describe the sound of the new engines, calling them to be too quiet. The boss of Red Bull, Christian Horner, defended Vettel for being open about his opinions and even agreeing with him about it.

Hamilton after the race by Becca Hodge

After this past race in Malaysia, Lewis Hamilton, driver for Mercedes, states that this is "the best car I've ever driven." This season, the rules have changed, downgrading to smaller engine and a limit of fuel congestion. The newly designed cars have worked well, especially for Mercedes after winning 1st in the last 2 races. Nice Rosberg won 1st in Australia 2nd in Malaysia and Lewis Hamilton had to retire in Australia but came back and won 1st in Malaysia. congrats to all!
