Brazilian Candidate Hands Out Cocaine!? by Maddie Ibarra

In the northern states of Brazil, 32 year old Carme Cristina Lima was running for councillor or Itacoatiara. His running for election was normal until police because suspicious of him on election day. On election day, police watched as a crowd began to gather around Lima's car during the morning. After the crowds were pushed away, police searched his car and found hundreds of packs of cocaine that were connected to the back of Lima's leaflets also including instructions on how to vote for her. "Speaking to Brazil's TNOnline website, police chief Daniel Ottoni said: "There was a large gathering of people around Ms Lima, but when they saw the police they all ran away."The candidate and another man also fled by car but officers caught up with them."

It shocks me but also doesn't shock me that a candidate would do this. It is seriously wrong to bride your way into office, but I also see why she would do this. Some people are very desperate for money for drugs and if they find a way to get the drugs, they will do anything they can to have them. Ms. Lima saw this and took advantage if to. Im not saying that this is ok or the right thing to do. I think that it is horrible how she used and manipulated these people into trying to vote for her. I hope that the police to catch her and bring her to justice.
