On September 14, Mark Zuckerberg has announced that his social networking website, Facebook, now has over one billion active users. Facebook would have the third-largest population if it were a nation. That's a lot of people! Reaching 500 million active users, the Menlo Park, Calif., company made Facebook one of the "fastest growing sites in history." However, we do not know if some of the accounts are fake, but there is a campaign to remove them soon. In August, 8.7% of all of the accounts were fake. People are now asking this question. "How much value will Mr. Zuckerberg extract from all of those people who signed up for Facebook for free?" About a year ago the company made nearly $4 billion in revenue. This was mostly from advertising.
